Here
I use JJ's 3.2 rom with yours 8.1 kernel since few days. Everything works perfect. My battery life is better vs. 8.0.22
Thanks a lot, you made again a very good kernel.

Hi guys,

Had many spontaneous reboots today.
I found out it only happens when cpu governor is set to "on demand"...

In case you face same issues...workaround is to use smartassv2

Its not becausr of overclocking as it happens at 806 and 1017 mhz max. Also clearingcache and dalvik cache didnt fix it.

+1 thats my observation 2, smav2 is most stable of governors, and jj's rom most stable of roms (smav2 best for oc 2)

You need to unpack the boot.img, unpack the ramdisk, mod the .rle file to something that can be edited...edit and then do everything in reverse.

For the unpacking and repacking: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1477845

For moding the .rle: http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1140406 You can skip this and just swap the logo.rle from the JB ramdisk with the one you like...but who knows maybe tomorrow you will want to make your own.

KerianFTW and ChampianSwimmer have also written scripts to help automate this process for you...but you probably still want to read the unpacking/repacking post because Iridaki does a good job explaining how to do everything....her advice to flash your edited kernel the first time with "fastboot boot" instead of "fastboot flash boot" can save you a lot of suffering.

Hi again,

Well... I said on-demand kept my phone going yesterday...it did...but just before sleep I checked the processes and found 7 "zombie" system processes running. and phone almost out of memory. Zombie processes you cannot kill..because they are zombie :(

Well to be on the safe side (and this is my primary phone) I did a factory reset...now everything is working again.

I will stay on 8.1 kernel for now (on-demand governor 134-806 Mhz) and will not play with rom control (to be sure its not caused by that) and see if it stays stable....if not....the I will use 7 kernel instead (or stock with CWM) of 8.1 until these issues are solved.

Simple reboot should clear out any zombie processes...
