Well I'm actually looking for a method to root the device...
not that easy without adb/usb access.

I´m not sure about purchasing Asteroid. I like the idea, but i´m afraid that is only expensive brick in dashboard now. Parrot seems to working on it, but how long?

I´m hoping that somebody from XDA will come with something making Asteroid useful, if Parrot don´t

Can someone help us trying to modify the update file?
h ttp://w ww.gforums.de/asteroid/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=27

Its a .PLF file, and could be the start point of a custom firmware

boot up time.
I am very interested in one of these, however I want to know one thing, what is the power on / boot up time like from cold in the morning. Can anyone give me a fairly accurate time. I read on another forum it took half a mile before it was playing music.

I know it has a sleep mode, where it will turn back on instantly, but this dis activate after 30mins of the car being off to save battery.

This is the only thing stopping buying one at the moment so any info would be great

Since the last update the device boot up really fast.
About 20 seconds, from cold.
From sleep mode, it´s an instant boot.

You have to be sure your installation is correct.
12v+ permanent and 12v+ "Under Key" are difficult to find in moder vehicles
