i have the Tab S 8.4 and use it with DSLR controller, Incredible tablet, great screeen within incredible colors, works great with DSLR controller over USB and wifi.
Big enough to show a great preview size for a photo yet small enough to fit in a big pocket.
AMOLED screen makes for great battery life.
It's not so much an issue of whether or not it is possible (it is), but at the moment it's not worth it for me to build because of several reasons. For one, it's a great extra feature of the TP-Link if it were implemented, but I don't make anything on the TP-Link, and it would actually cost me a lot of time and effort (and thus money) to create - unless the Android device is used as a go-between, which (probably) isn't really needed and just complicates the solution.[/QUOTE=Chainfire;48955723]
Hello,
Even with an Android device as an in-between i would be happy to see the "ability to transfer automatically to PC" functionality from the app. Without uploading to cloud. Automatic file transfer is actually more important to me than adjusting settings and releasing remotely.
In the FAQ you indicate:
"Remote control through 3rd party applications, a second Android device, or a PC implemented in v0.96"
I tried to connect my smartphone with OTG cable directly to the camera (5d mk iii) and started the passthrough function but what windows PC software is able to "catch" the files? EOS Utility 3 doesen't.
I've also tried to run DSLR controller in Bluestacks windows android app player but running it in BlueStacks, it doesen't recognize the TP-Link router while connected to it's wifi with the PC.
Yours,
Laszlo
Just a guess, but maybe turn off auto rotate in the camera too? I have mine set to not rotate in the camera, just on my computer. I'm using a different phone though. When using my HTC One M7 with a Canon 5DmkII DSLRController keeps autorotating, even when the phone is set not to, and other apps don't autorotate. This is annoying to me as I use the phone often in a near horizontal position and it keeps rotating the wrong way. Any obvious solution I'm overlooking? Anyone with similar problems? Can DSLRController be forced not to rotate? TIA.

I am a professional architectural photographer and have adopted your DSLR app into my workflow. Thank you for the great design and amazing functionality. It is a pleasure to work with*.
I would like to know what the future holds for DSLR Contorller. I noticed you are not very active on this forum (last post on 2/26/2015), but wanted to encourage you to keep on developing because I, We need it!!!

Hey Chainfire, I was wondering if there was an ETA for the next update? I know asking such things is never liked, Im not looking for a hard date just a rough idea and if there is anything else we can do to help?
The price will go up once v1.0 is reached, but the upgrade is free for those who have this BETA???
Why can't I see free version?
