hi guys im trying to flash a new rom on the z1 but non of the recoverys read my externel sd ive tried reinserting any ideas
That actually depends: are you on JB4.3? If so, you will need to go the long way around (flashing 4.2.2 ROM, rooting, install XZDualRecovery and updating it to 4.3 again)...
There still is no way to break the lock from the kernel ramdisk for now...

You are using 2.7.62 right?
Not even TWRP is able to mount the external sd?
just reinstalled and managed to get it in twrp but flashed rom and hit bootloop not sure if its recovery related
Hi mates
I have only 1 question:
What exactly does a backup in CWM/TWRP includes?
I only know that it not includes the TA.
thank you
The twrp in XZDualRecovery does know how to backup the TA but it will never be a default action to do so.
They both backup boot, system, cache and userdata.
I didn't knew this about TWRP, thanks.
Are there some problems with restoring or only because, if the included TA Backup can be damaged, we will brick the Phone?
Or how should I imagine that?
A bit stupid question maybe: the meaning of "boot" is: all what is needed for booting the device?

Which one do I have to download for xperia Z?
I've tried several and the recoveries do boot but they won't let me install xperia Z roms..
It gives an error
So.. Suddenly my rooted Xperia Z lost all recoveries. It used to work with the Existenz rom I use (4.3) where I had both twrp when pressing the volume buttons at boot, and I could boot into this touch cwm recovery thru the power menu in Existenz. Suddenly they all stopped working.
Now im trying to get this going but when it says that the phone should ask SuperSU permission, nothing happens. Nothing in the log either. So it cannot copy the files properly. USB debugging is obviously on..
What's happening?
[snip]...but permissions are set like: Srw-Srw-r (644) (It seems like the 'S' is the problem, I'm sure GID and UID are ticked)...[snip]
