Impressed!

I must say I'm impressed! Works really smooth and everything seems to be working so far.

As I understand Trebuchet is the new CyanogenMod launcher for ICS. I know it's in very early stages of development but I hope it will be improved soon. It's a shame it only allows 4x4 grid on this huge screen, it's a waste of screen real extate... Changing DPI to 240 didn't help.

Any suggestions as to what launcher works well on ICS?

OMFG. I will install this, and keep updating with the next updates from maui.

Come on Samsung! Bring us some pre-pre-pre-alpha-beta to let work people who really help the community and knows what they are doing!

Just found out that setting LCD density to 160 switches the UI to tablet mode :-D Looks sweet. A bit too tiny though.

Shame that Trebuchet is crashing in landscape mode!

Is there any chance to use the stock launcher?

I know you're happy to see some movement regarding the Galaxy Note and ICS but please refrain from posting to this thread unless you have to add anything of value ;)

IMPORTANT NOTES
This is a experimental Build of the current state of CyanogenMod 9 for the Samsung Galaxy Note. CM 9 is based on latest AOSP sources plus some usefull tweaks and features.

CyanogenMod 9 is still under heavy development and will probably be finished in January/February 2012. The device specific part for the Galaxy Note is under heavy Development, too.

FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK

WHAT'S WORKING

• WiFi should work as expected.
• 3G/GPRS/EDGE Data and Calling
• Audio
• Touchscreen as well as the S-Pen (proprietary S-Pen Apps by Samsung are not included and would'nt work anyway.
• Sensors should work. (ie. at least GPS is confirmed to work properly)

KNOWN BUGS
• Bluetooth is unstable. Don't rely on it just yet
• Battery Usage doesn't work.
• MTP Mode does not work. You need to push/pull files via adb
• Camera doesn't work. Will be that way until we can get our hands on a ICS leak for the Galaxy Note

INSTRUCTIONS

Installation using ODIN

Odin 1.83 should be fine. If you don't know what Odin this, stop reading further right now. This rom isn't for you.
Do a full wipe in the Recovery mode before flashing.

Enter Download Mode on your device.

Start Odin. Load up the ROM in the PDA Section of Odin. Make sure not not to change any settings like Flash Lock, Re-Partition etc. Just use Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time.

Flashing this rom WILL increase your binary counter and may/will void your warranty.

After flashing make sure to boot into Recovery and do a full wipe. If you want you can adb push GAPPS to your device and install them accordingly.

Installation using CWM
- READ FAQs: http://teamhacksung.org/wiki/index.p...sked_Questions
- Make sure you're running a proper working CWM like the one from CM7
- Copy GApps and CM9 ZIPs to your internal SDCard
- Boot into Recovery
- Flash CM9 zip
- Flash GApps zip
- DO A DATA WIPE / FACTORY RESET (otherwise your calendar sync will not work)
- Reboot
- Don't restore Apps using Titanium Backup!

Flashing this rom MAY increase your binary counter and may/will void your warranty.

DOWNLOADS

Make sure you have read the entire post. There are bugs and caveats. This rom is a pre-Alpha release and not suitable for daily usage. It may even break your device. Please only flash it if you know what you're doing.

Please peeps, let's try and not be oxyMORONS by getting the thread closed again shall we? =)
Too late. This is unbelievable. Nineteen useless, whining, inflammatory posts demanding ETAs or complaining about nothing pertinent to development have been removed, again. I will reopen this thread when the OP has something to upload - and not a moment sooner.

Hi there,

a few words on questions that came up so far:

There is screen flicker (ie. black lines) in some apps? Why is that?
Since we can't use the ICS 3.0.9 Kernel that leaked together with the XXKPx Builds for the SGS2 we can't use
the new ICS Graphics blobs which depend on the new kernel.

The Graphics blobs currently in use in the first build are the ones from Gingerbread and those are (which is pretty obvious if you aks me)
not fully compatible with ICS.

A quick workaround that might fix the screen flickering for some apps while breaking others is:
Go to Settings -> Developer options -> Tap "Force GPU rendering" (enabled).

There are issues with SD mounting (internal/external)
Already on my list for the next build along with working MTP)

Do I have to factory reset when going from this build to the next build?
Most certainly not. Since all releases are tested before release I'll let you know if there is something you need to do before upgrading.

Is this a Team Hacksung release?
Yes it is. I am maintaining the development for the Galaxy Note while working closely with codeworkx, nebkat, xplodwild et al.

Is it supposed to have a forum on CM website?
Nah. Since we are in pre-Alpha stage there is no support besides the IRC User channel mentioned in the first post.

Thread closed

If anything new develops, the OP is free to PM me and I'll reopen it, right now nothing but complaining seems to be going on in here.

2/17/12 Edited to open - let the real development begin :)
