I believe this will result best on Captivate / Fascinate - I am using the standard i9000 Galaxy S and I don't use 850MHz with my carrier I have just read a lot on here and have acquired this information

You need to use a modem that supports 2100/850 as the standard carriers don't use 850MHz But Bell, maybe Fido, Telstra and a few other carriers have this different band for greater connection

Download any 850 band modem from this link

http://xdaforums.com/show...23&postcount=2

Flash any of the WCDMA 850 enabled style modems using CWM. ***IF USING GINGERBREAD USE JQ1***

Only use below method if the above didn't work and if you're using Froyo

1. You will need to download this: http://www.multiupload.com/TC1ME8VB20

OR You can try downloading a modem from the link above and get a WCDMA 850 enabled modem and then open the file (Do not extract) using 7zip http://www.7-zip.org/download.html

Once inside the zip navigate to the modem folder then move the modem file out of that and somewhere on your computer you will remember

2. Download the modem.zip file I have attached in this post. Use 7zip to open modem.zip (Do not extract) and then navigate to the updates folder you will see nothing in here besides redbend this is normal, copy and paste the modem file you downloaded inside this folder then close the modem.zip.

3. Copy the zip to your phone and flash with CWM - You should now have the desired modem

Thanks nitr8 for the modems
