Welcome to the RDF spotting thread for the Sprint Variant SGS5 (SM-G900P)
(Galaxy S5 sport is SM-G860P)
From @rwilco12 post
For those of you who don't know what an RDF is... RDF stands for "Resource Description Framework". In non-geek terms an RDF is essentially a specification sheet that details what the finished product will be. In this case the product itself is already out but any time there is a software revision it results in a build number change. Each build number has an associated RDF.
Latest RDF:
The "latest" RDF displays the software version our phones currently have OR it might display the upcoming version that is about to be pushed out OTA:
http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SM-G900P-SPRINT/latest (listed as OD3, Android 5.0)
to monitor the page automatically for changes, use this extension: Page Monitor or Android app Web Page Monitor
[The RDF link is best viewed in Internet Explorer]
Thanks for the link @garwynn!!
Newest testing build found:
The newest testing build is found by entering the last 3 characters of the software number into this URL followed by .rdf and is indicative of a version being tested by Sprint (rarely the testing builds make it to "latest" and change presumably when bugs are found/squashed and version # then increases)
OG1 http://device.sprintpcs.com/Samsung/SM-G900P-SPRINT/OG1.rdf (Lollipop 5.0) (found 7/31/15)
Samsung website FAQ latest version number page (sometimes has the build numbers up first for the an upcoming OTA) -> http://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00032376/253271/SM-G900PZKASPR
Leaked test builds:

Hey what's a TAR BALL? Is it cancerous? Maybe, but just do this with it instead:
Also, here's the link for the Source Code from opensource.samsung.com. Usually when that drops, the OTA is released within a couple days:

TLDR: 2014 = N, Months = A - L (ex: May is E), Revisions = 1-9, A=10, B=11, C=12.....

How to install using the GOTA link: (just like receiving the OTA push, will not wipe any user data)
- Download the file from above, move to the SD card of your phone
- Power down the phone, boot into recovery mode (hold HOME+VOL UP+POWER until the blue type appears at the top of the screen, then release buttons)
- Navigate using the volume keys, select using the power key -> move to install update from SD (hit power), navigate to the file you downloaded (hit power)
- Wait patiently, reboot the phone if it didn't automatically
- (best practice for major updates is to just factory wipe before and after this process so all the cobwebs are cleaned out, at least wipe out the cache for all apps)
- Install the Android SDK, enable USB debugging (does NOT require root), (great video from @qbking77 here) on your computer
- When prompted to download an update, immediately plug your phone into that computer (with the SDK installed)
- From that computer open a command prompt and type "adb devices" which will start the daemon, then type "adb logcat" and hit enter (information will start spewing from your phone to the command window)
- THEN tap the download the update button on your phone, monitor the information from the logcat and find the URL (should start with "android.clients.google.com")
- Might be easiest to copy the logcat into a text file and search for it (capture using command: adb logcat -d > logcat.txt) as the information might be too fast and furious on screen to read any of it
- Once you have the URL, please post it in this thread so we can put it in the OP

Hey what's a TAR BALL? Is it cancerous? Maybe, but just do this with it instead:
- Untar the tar ball and find the zip inside (firmware file) (may already be in zip form if grabbing from Rwilco site)
- Best Practice is to wipe your phone in recovery; wipe data/cache/dalvik/system because you might run into problems after flashing (although you don't have to wipe if you are a very defiant person that likes to live dangerously with the potential for app crashes)
- Put phone in download mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons, then press up when prompted), then connect phone to computer
- Open Odin (on desktop) and place zip file in PDA/AP slot, make sure that re-partition is NOT ticked, hit start. [Reboot if it doesn't reboot automatically. Don't use mobile odin as it won't properly flash the modem and junk]
- Now you will be on 100% stock with the 100% stock unrooted ROM and modem
- Profit
