[KOT49H/KRT16S] USB Tethering

I just compiled a stock kernel from the sources with RNDIS support, and USB tethering works just fine.

All you need is to flash this modified boot.img along with the tether zip found in the first post. Windows will still need a driver to recognize the device, use attached driver.zip or follow this guide.

There was wrong version of APK (two KRT16S files), thanks to Demart.
Corrected.
Please download krt16s-Tether.zip again in case of problems.

Still bootlooping forever... no dice... what can be wrong? (tried with and without dalvik/cache wiping)

Will this work with ATT data SIM?

I only ask because when I tried the other .zip (combined tether/wifi + sms), the personal hotspot menu showed up only when the SIM card was not inserted, and disappeared when I inserted the ATT SIM card.

Yeah it is... I've just updated to KitKat then lost the god damn tethering...

There's a no-tether zip file have you tried to go recovery mode and flash it through?

i had been recovery from boot loop. i use twrp (mount usb) instead of cwm to mount otg usb. it boot normally after flashing no-tether zip.

KRT16S_SMS_Tethering.zip works fine !

I faced on the same problem before using this image.

I tried to flash this image into my Nesus7 2012 3G (Tilapia) model with Android v4.4 Kitkat (KRT16S) factory image.
It is working fine !

I have two questions:
1. Will the patch still work for 4.4.2? (don't have it yet)
2. Is there any chance to have a switch for the hotspot feature in the pull down area of the status bar where all the other switches (for wifi, bluetooth, gps etc) are?

No it won't work on 4.4.2 as framework has been patched, however there will be an update this weekend.

As for the toggle, I'm pretty sure I can port it once the mod variants are all updated to the latest version

Same here.
Edit:4th time flashing made it work,using CWM.
Now how to combine this with working SMS mod by GuyAdams http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2535586
Flashing both produces bootloop.
