I downloaded the kernel and flashed in recovery. My phone is pretty minimalist on the installed application front. I haven't changed any of the kernel settings. Also did a data/cache wipe and permissions fix.

It already is. To the safest max. You can fry your device if you oc GPU too much

Have you checked the md5? If it matches, it could be a bad flash... Otherwise re-download, check again and flash when the hash check is good.

AOKP 4.2.1, md5 matches up. There's nothing wrong with this kernel. I get excellent battery life its just the UI isn't as fluid as some of the other kernels. There is a. Good bit of screen flickering as well when in the menu settings

I'm on cm10.1, having sworn off AOKP. There are absolutely zero issues with the combination of this kernel and cm. Being that the cm kernel was used as a base may be the issue, but it shouldn't be. Maybe the op has more insight or can look at the code for both the cm and AOKP kernels to troubleshoot the issue...
But you're sure this wasn't a problem before flashing this kernel?

I don't suggest your uv to the verge of breaking as it will hurt the cpu more than help it. Just undervolt everything -125 the most. Its given great batt life imo
I'm not sure if its just me or its seems to lag a little bit when playing nfs most wanted after flashing the update to the kernel

5Sort-of a huge release
been working on ASDemand governor it has been working well with battery and performance. Working on adding hotplugging properties to it in the coming future. If you want to use it i say bfq or sio are best to use it with.
no more version numbers, gets too messy and inaccurate
Also cpu1 should match cpu0 now thanks to imoseyon coding. meaning less up and down variation in speeds between both cores.
