Flashing Rom

ATTENTION!

Coming from another ROM (including stock PA)? | (FOR BEST RESULTS, USE THIS FOR UPDATES AS WELL)

  • Make a NANDROID backup
  • Wipe System, Data, Cache, and Dalvik Cache
  • Flash ROM
  • Flash official PA GAPPS (link available in OP)
  • Reboot system


Updating to a newer version of this ROM?

  • Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache (optionally wipe Data)
  • Flash ROM
  • Flash official PA GAPPS (link available in OP)
  • Reboot system


Please, don't report any bugs if you haven't tried a clean flash and/or have flashed any type of custom mod or kernel. Also be sure to include ADB logcats with your bug reports. Don't know how to ADB logcat?

The latest version of TWRP Recovery is recommended with this ROM.
Modified TWRP recovery TWRP-2.6.3.0_E975_MR.zip or fastboot flashable img TWRP-2.6.3.0_E975_MR.img by faust93

Tips for OTA
1. Use twrp recovery in 2nd post.
2. You may FAILED by thoese causes:
  • Use cwm recovery,it cannot flash automatic, and will failed in model check(it always says your model is e975,but now this rom is marked as geehrc)
  • if you got xxx.apk has unexpect contents.you'd better flash your current version again and then OTA.for example,your current version is 20140209,and OTA version is 20140209-20140210,it means your current version must be 0209,and will update to 0210.if you got this issue i mentioned,then flash full package of 0209,and then flash OTA package to finish update.

Tips for NO SIGNAL ON GEE
it is happened to users who using wcdma or other non-cdma users.
Go to Settings -> Network -> choose CDMA subscription -> check RUIM
then open dialer,type *#*#4636#*#*,phone information,choose Select prefered network type to WCDMA prefered, reboot
now you should get signal on your phone,if not,check if network type is LTE,then switch it to 3G or 2G,then it should have signal now.

Works very well.
I had to change the installer script to check from e975 to geehrc, but after that it installed correctly.
I cannot add new widgets to the lockscreen, but the ROM is fast and I don't have radio problems (I usually cannot enable LTE when the ROM is using mako sources).
It is a very good ROM, thanks again.

if you are using cwm recovery,it should be ok to install without change script.
if you want to enable widget,you need go to settings - security - enable widgets,check it to enable widgets.:highfive:

and it's weird,since i have no issue on camera max mpx and photosphere,if you guys can post some screenshots or logcats about it would be better.maybe i need a full wipe to see what happens.

    this time i switched source to gee, so there's a lot of changes
    and of course, fresh PIE is in there, and lockscreen notification is back with a lot of fix.

    i updated ota service so it's not available from now,it's only working on today's package and it's for future update.

    options to choose screen off animation

    and.. other fixes.... you can have a try.
