Euro kdz may not work with 3G in all areas, but has faster speeds. Canadian/Latin am/US kdz has the important 850 Umts band, but due to congestion has slower speeds. If you are still unsure, flash the Canadian v20c.

From an Icy Touchpad. Word.

i think i only ran into one 2 problems. one is that the search soft key is not bound to anything and doesnt do anything. and second, when i first flashed this, all the text was shifted in ways where u cant read ANYTHING. i guessed my way thru the menu and changed the font, and it fixed i guess. i still dont know y it was like that. this was after i flashed it with the ICS theme

So I went ahead and flashed V21D and created a NANDROID backup.
Then I downloaded the deodexed apps and frameworks.

I've currently replaced all the binaries, libraries, and extra files that I got from the NANDROID.
I've also replaced the apps and frameworks.

Now all that is left to do is flash the update, verify stability, update apps, package Kitchen and upload.

And just to verify, 2.0 is V21D.

EDIT 1: Booting to bootanimation is fine.
EDIT 2: Booting to Android system fine.

EDIT 3: Wifi and Bluetooth is broken. Replacing library and binaries.
EDIT 4: Wifi and Bluetooth continue to break. Reverting to complete V21A system and replacing with V21D App and Framework. Will do after class.

EDIT 5: Wifi and Bluetooth fixed. Now replacing binaries and library files one at a time.
EDIT 6: Binary and library files replaced successfully. Apps and framework replaced successfully. Wifi and Bluetooth working fine. All apps updated. Stability = MAX. Packaging after a few more edits.

+1 but no matter how many times you explain that to people they will never learn.. I posted about this and two posts below me someone asked the question that i answered lol...

just to be clear I meant to write BB or .KDZ and just missed write what I meant:eek:

but now that we're on topic which kdz is known to work with our thrill so it can get 4g?
'cause aside from changing the flex files, you don't truly get 4g on the thrill with at&t

I think it really depends on your area.
My location is highly saturated with 4G, so I can't really be of assistance. I get 4G on almost every baseband.

Release coming today.

Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S II w/ CM9

I'll be waiting! I know the Thrill forum has been a little empty lately, but there are a few of us still around!

Also, any idea where I can find a 20C KDZ?

Never mind, found it. Had to use tor to download it because I still had the modified hosts file from the first flash in my windows folder.

Will your new release support 20c? I see 2.0 says 21d, is that 100% required?

Explanation.

Flashing a .kdz file will install a baseband.
For example, if you flash V20C, you'll get the V20C baseband. Same for every other .kdz file.

Now, many users noticed that on STOCK Thrill, when they were to flash a P920 version of CyanogenMod, they wouldn't receive service at all.
The reason was because it was flashed via ClockworkMod.

Currently, ClockworkMod does NOT flash basebands and that was the reason why.

It is the same concept with this kitchen. Since it is flashed in ClockworkMod, the baseband will NOT be flashed over, therefore, increasing the range of basebands this ROM can be used on.

In short, it is compatible with EVERY Gingerbread baseband.

Got it. I am used to being able to flash basebands differently, which I think is where my confusion was. (I came from the Atrix 2, then went iPhone, then Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray, then found the Thrill cheap at a used cell phone shop, now I know why the resale value is so low haha) When your new release comes out I will try it on 20C.

I am PCSing to Italy in a few months. I know they are 2100MHz there, and where I am now in Missouri, our 3G is just a tad bit faster than EDGE. When I get back to Texas next month, I will see if I can run the 21D. 21D should be good in Europe as well when I bring it over. That is, unless I find a cooler Android phone once I get there haha.

    Basic ROM Features:
    • Uses LG 3D Framework

    NON-Customizable Features:
    • Deodexed
    • Zipaligned
      • All /system apps and /data apps zipalign on every boot

    What does every option do?

Option 1: This starts the process for your ROM. At the end of this process, you will get a .zip file to flash in ClockworkMod recovery.

Option 2: It's pretty easy to understand.
    • Turn on USB Debugging Mode
    • Plug the phone in
    • Follow the instructions until the phone reboots
Option 3: This will let you change your theme. There are two themes currently. You will get a .zip file to flash in ClockworkMod recovery.
    • Stock LG
    • Ice Cream Sandwich by jamm513 - SEE SCREENSHOTS
      • You can flash via ClockworkMod recovery AFTER the initital boot.
      • Flashing before the first boot can cause multiple force closes that a factory reset can't fix.
Option 4: This lets you overclock your phone or even remove overclock. You will get a .zip file to flash in ClockworkMod recovery.

Option 5: Your "/system " partition will be able to be written to with ADB.

Option 6: Your "/system " partition will not be able to be written to with ADB.

Option 7: Again, it's very to understand.
    • Turn on USB Debugging Mode
    • Plug the phone in
    • Follow the instructions until the phone reboots
Option 8: This will clear all the folders that have ROM files in them.

Option 9: This will clear all the "update.zip" files that have been created.

Option 10: This pulls up a Command Prompt.

Option 11: I've always wondered what "Exit" did...

What is included in this ROM?

Apps: App-wise, it's like a regular ROM without the bloatware. All included apps such as Maps and Flash Player are updated. Other than that, you have an option to add these to your ROM as well.
    • AdFree
    • Dimmer
    • Facebook
    • Google +
    • Twitter
    • XDA
    • YouTube
Keyboards: There are two options for the keyboard.
    • Gingerbread Keyboard
    • Stock LG Keyboard
Launchers: You'll have 10 launchers to choose from.
    • ADW Launcher
    • Gingerbread Launcher
    • GoLauncher EX
    • Launcher7
    • LauncherPro
    • LauncherPro Sense
    • Stock LG Home
    • Regina Launcher
    • Zeam Launcher
LG Apps & Widgets: You get to pick and choose what you want! :D

Overclock: You'll have 26 different GHz options to choose from.
    • Stock 1Ghz
    • 1.01 GHz - 1.25 GHz
      • If you do use overclock, there is a strange bug that causes vibrate to stop working.
        • You can fix this problem by doing a factory reset
        • You can also fix it by restoring a NANDROID backup
APNS: Your APNs should automatically be set to the correct ones.

Please do not ask if it is compatible with your baseband. If it's a Gingerbread baseband, the answer is YES.
