Welcome back hillbeast, i know your decission already done, and i think you did the right one. I think doing custom Rome from cm7/9 is out of any sense, all those devs should concentrate their menpower on the real thing and repair what is missing or non functional and then submit patches. The kernel you plan to do is a good idea, it should be built towards cm7/9 and your findings also should be submitted so marcellusbe can integrate them into the real thing as well. I think thine should be over where everyone was trying to cook his own soup, lets go and help the device to survive one or two more years and make cm7/9 so powerfully that Samsung wants to hide in the basement and cry as they deserve it for what their software department does to those beautiful and powerful devices they produce.

strange error

Got a strange error first time when i am downloading Applications from market " package file is invalid " while installing..

Also tried restoring Apps from Titanium back up..got " application not installed "

I am running Kyorarom 5.2 with Astrum Andromedae (v1.0)

Will this be issue with the kernel since i am seeing it first time after flashing the new kernel??

Help please..

Sounds like bad permissions. Go into Terminal Emulator and do

su
chmod 777 /data/app/*

No..still the same issue.Unable to install apps from Titanium or from Market with Astrum Kernel
Tried changing the permission as you said...but still the same issue :-(

EDIT: flashed g3mod2.4.1 kernel again..it worked

So, will that be issue with Astrum kernel ???

As I recall, I had same issue with Astrum. But I don't remember how I solved it.

U should take a look to your filesystem.
Maybe /data is corrupt (I got this error many time, and 99% was /data corrupt (wrong filesystem))

I never try Astrum, but u should look on this way

put this: http://db.tt/uDG1ucAO fsconvert file on sdcard in Android/data/g3mod/*...& reboot....open this file with text editor and insert what filesystems you want...e.g.
stl6 ext4-system
stl7 ext4-data
stl8 ext2-cache
mmcblk0p2 ext4-sd-ext
note: i just wrote optimal fs...and u can copy this if u like...

I recommend that, but that's because I made it. Either use that, or Dharams G3MOD 3.x, or Astrum. I can't remember if Fugumod has a non-OC version. Been too long since I looked, but Kyorakernel works flawlessly with Kyorarom.

Yeah that was the old one. Try the new test version. I haven't had any reports of battery issues (but I haven't had reports of anything...)
