-Download the attachment I provide below and place it in somewhere you KNOW where you can find it easily. (I placed it in C:\android-sdk-windows\extras\google\usb_driver(I would recommend doing the same))
-Go to device manager
-right click on the exclamation mark kindle.
-Choose update driver software
-choose browse my computer for driver software
-choose let me pick from a list of devices on my computer
-Then select have disk
-Then select browse
-direct to where you downloaded the usb driver i attached
-Select okay and okay

Download here

Following this, two things happen. If I download the file from this post and attempt to install it, I receive an error stating Windows could not find files. If I install from the driver included in the OP, it's successful. However, ADB still does not recognize the device, and the Kindle Fire Utility returns an error: device not found.

Any help?

I heard that the Amazon update.zip replaces both boot and recovery. So yes, if you flash that you will loose twrp and FIREFIREFIRE.

try this it may work:

open a cmd windows from your sdk tools folder, not the platform-tools, just tools and run this:

android uptade adb

then go to your user folder c:\users\username there should be a folder named .android in there, open adb_usb.ini and add this line at the bottom

0x1949

save close and update driver again, hope it works

Yes it installs firefire. When you install twrp it goes to team wins website to download the software.

The yellow icon is fixed by the included drivers with the tool.

I have a few more options I want to add, and like installing Google Apps and so forth.

Glad people are getting some use out of this tool.
