Maybe so, but why not overclock in the bootmenu? I find it to be the direct control, works every time. At least for me, since I don't change clocks for gaming/ everyday stuff/ night etc, just keep them at the same settings.

I did that on this ROM, as well, worked out fine..!

Thx for your reply. I've used Bootmenu overclocking, but from what nofrillscpu tells, IT does not work. Still 1000 max, still ondemand.

Some people are on custom ROMs so long, that they forget how the stock ones look like ;). For more info on how to change battery indicator see this thread.
INZANEDUD, will you please give your feedback on downgrade? It's always good to know :D

Downgrade? I am still in bl6 ... anyway there are several post about rooting gingerbread bl7 like this.

I tried with 4.5.3-109_DPP-11 and 4.5.2-109-DHT-22, both from MS2Ginger thread.

The result was the same, overclock didn't work.

The same issue happend to me with MS2Ginger 3.0 and the solution was update Bootmenu with the version included in MS2Ginger 4.0.

I tried updating Bootmenu with this rom, but the issue still here.

I must say I'm quite satisfied with the speed and battery life with this rom. I'm currently running the 3d blur launcher for Ms2Ginger provided by Walter and it runs great on this rom.

DO i need to convert the system.ext3 zip file in "PVL-StockPlus-v2\system.ext3" to an image file for restoring it, because restore option does not find any system image file in CWM.

Every time you flash a new rom, you need to recalibrate the battery. Read somewhere that if you take out the battery for 3 to 5 minutes and put it back in should do the job. Wipe battery stats in CWM bootmenu. Keep in mind that this battery indicator goes from 0 to 20 by 5, and from 20 to 100 by 10%. To calibrate the battery you can also use 'battery calibration' app from the playstore.

Have you done that ?
Extract the downloaded file to the SD card at: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup

I encountered the same behavior because i had forgotten to extract the zip. You should have a directory /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/PVL-StockPlus-v2/*

Thank You for replies, it was a silly mistake on my part, did not extract the contents in backup, instead copied it after extracting which created two folders in "backup/PVL-StockPlus-v2/PVL-StockPlus-v2".

Hi prasannavl,

- for those who use GGLRom (green lens), you can tell us how to activate Volume Buttons Wake Support and Deep Sleep Support?

- finally, I think it's the same version of ROM.

- your ROM has toggle bar widgets (like in ms2ginger)?

I really appreciate your answer....:D

- To add Deep sleep support manually is easier said than done. For example you have here an explanation of how to add a reboot button.

- yes, this ROM is based on the same version of stock rom.

- You can download fully customizable notification toggle app from the Google playstore

In v1, you need to edit the init.d scripts inside /etc/init.d/XXbacklight to modify the brightness.

In v2, you can simply modify the value in /system/build.prop.

So, after hovering over CM nightlies for as long as I can remember, I guess, I've reached a point where I want things to just work. And DFP-231, for the first time pleasantly surprised me! So, sticking as close to stock as possible while having all the goodies, here - PVL-StockPlus.

    Download Links:

    Version 2: PVL-StockPlus-v2.zip [194 MB]
    Version 1: PVL-StockPlus-v1.zip [191 MB]

Note: If you're installing it on a Defy (not Defy+), you need to only restore "system" using "Advanced Restore", and flash 4.5.3-109-DHT Kernel from here - http://ge.tt/969Z8xC/v/3.

    Updates:

Note: All the updates below are already integrated into Version 2. You don't have to download any of these below.

ResponsivenessUpdate.zip [156Kb] (Will work on any ROM with init.d support - Tweaks to ramscript)
MP4VideoUpdate.zip [158Kb] - VGA+ resolution videos including 720p now use MP4 containers. (Info: 720p uses generic MPEG4 Part-2 encoding while others use H264 (Part-10 AVC) as frame-rate with 720p using H264 is too low, although it provides better quality. Edit /system/build.prop if you wish to change that.)

    How to Install:

    1. Root your Phone and Install Bootmenu (SndInitDefy_2.0.apk)
    2. Extract the downloaded file to the SD card at: /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup
    3. Copy all the update zip files, if any, anywhere into your SD card.
    4. Reboot
    5. Boot into 2nd-init (Volume-Down on Blue LED)
    6. Go to "Recovery" -> "Custom Recovery" -> "Backup and Restore" -> "Restore" -> "PVL-StockPlus-v1"
    7. To install the updates, if any, choose "Install from zip from sdcard" -> Select all the update zips one by one and install.
    8. Wipe data (Optional but recommended) and cache (Strictly required).
    9. Reboot

If you're on a Green Lens Defy, you should probably wait for walter79's MSGinger. While I intend to focus only on the Defy Plus and Red Lens Defy, walter's ROMs provide a wide range of compatibility.

    Change Log:

    Version 2 - 18th April 2012:

For those who share my taste and prefer simplicity, enjoy. Others, no one's stoping you either. ;)

    Hi,

could not install ...MD5 mismatch in CWM.

the same happened to me! :(

me too .... MD5 mismatch ....i copy the file from ver 1 also cannot .

    I can't restore this nandroid... md5 mismatch! :(

    Please reupload it again

    Same here :(

    Correctly unzipped with 7zip.

the md5 in nandroid.md5 is actually different from the system.ext3.tar one and from any other file in the directory.

Damn! Terribly Sorry guys! I will reupoload it! Meanwhile, you don't have to redownload it again. Just open the nandroid.md5 in a text editor and replace it the line with md5 of "system.tar.ext3" with

    Code:
    a1dd5d0b16b56d94b5cb77f213dcf594 ./system.ext3.tar

Save it, and now it should work!

Sorry about this. Will reupload it soon.
