okay i tried to flash the rom again but this time i get a different error. it just says it is unable to mount a bunch of stuff:confused:

i uploaded my updated version of Kindle fire first aide here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/eubevjwdwbr61et/KFFirstAide.zip
1.you unzip the file to Local disk directory as is....no name change and go into the folder
2.Find a runme.bat file and click it it should start up the kindle fire first aide
3.find the option for kindle fire 7hd and find restore to 7.2.3 and follow instructions
4.on your kindle go to twrp and select reboot then bootloader and you should get fastboot
5.let the program run and your kindle should be fixed but still tell me what happens

You need to by a fastboot cord or just buy a tip for your standard USB cord http://shop.teamblackhat.info/Factory-Adapters-motadapt.htm

Instructions to make a fastboot cord here http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2207122

If you have a fastboot cord then use this tool http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=1951254

You need to download SDK to make fastboot and ADB commands recognized. Here is a video install tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaNM-lt_aHw

You may have done some or none of this so I figured I would cover all aspects just in case. After you're done, you will be at stock again and will want to root, use Kindle Fire First Aide to remove "OTA" updates, then do your ROM/TWRP install again. Do not under any circumstances use Kindle Fire First Aide to install TWRP.

So I took a break over the holidays trying to lower my frustration and waiting for factory cable. The new problem is that my computer recognizes my kindle (not as a kindle, but still "android adb interface") but the adb doesn't recognize it.

Double check your path and give these drivers a try http://xdaforums.com/showpost.php?p=44446906&postcount=9

Also, not sure if I posted this http://xdaforums.com/showthread.php?t=2459498 a tutorial on how to push a ROM onto TWRP.

i guess i should update you on my current situation.
A) i tried to do a factory reset on my kindle and as far as i can tell it just deleted twrp and my secondary bootloader (in this case i believe it was fire fire fire.)
B) Whenever i turn on my kindle (factory or no factory cable) it shows the original kindle fire logo, then a red screen slides by and it boots into fastboot.
C) My path is fine. All adb commands work, there just isn't a recognized device.

Oh no, FireFireFire is not for the Kindle Fire HD. If you flashed that bootloader to your KFHD it's hard bricked and not recoverable. Only FireFlash can be used on the KFHD 2012's. That's why the red screen, you flashed the wrong bootloader.
