I made this with my new Wildfire S from Vodafone Spain and works fine.

(Do at your own risk. I do not take any responsibility of any damages done to your phone.)

1.- Create Goldcard.

2.- Download Shipped Wildfire S ROM (in my case European version: http://shipped-roms.com/download.php...724_signed.zip )

3.- Rename file to PG76IMG.zip and copy to MicroSD (GoldCard)

4.- Turn off Wildfire S.

5.- Press: Volume Down + Power Button

6.- After detect the update, press Volume Up to install.

7.- When finished, press Power Button to reboot.

8.- Enjoy Wildfire S with Official ROM

To create a Goldcard is the same for all Android phones:

http://android.modaco.com/content/ge...ng-a-goldcard/

Right now it is not possible root the phone.

Incorrect, you can root the phone with GingerBreak - after unlocking the bootloader. And unlocking the bootloader can be done with an XTC (Payg) Clip.

Your tutorial sucks a little bit. You can do it with RUU exe file (which are available as in our forum). No need to have img. So you just click "next", instead of renaming etc.

But thank you for your afford!

Didn't quite try the above method first time around. Created the Gold Card using Gold Card Helper on a spare 8Gb SD card.

Then I used the official European RUU and it spat out an Error [140]: Bootloader Error. HBOOT is 0.90.0000

Then decided to try using the above zip file and lo and behold it does actually work.

Does this mean we may be able to trick the phone into flashing a non HTC firmware onto the device even if we haven't S-Offed or flashed a custom Recovery?

Hi,

I have the following problem:

after getting in bootmode (vol down + power), the phone loads the PG76IMG.zip correctly and then starts checking it. It also passes the CID check (goldcard). At around 99% it says "update failed - Main version is older - press power to ....

I'm trying to get from a English/HongKong 1.35 ROM to the most recent version of an European ROM (1.33)...

Any ideas?

Same problem as I am having... I guess our HBOOT (1.03.0000) can't be overwritten by an older HBOOT (0.90) ROM... This is someting a Goldcard can't fix...
