Hiya, just downloaded your driver and tried on both my 64bit machine and 32bit laptop. When I plug my phone in, the system automatically finds drivers every time (even on the 64bit which is a completely fresh install, no HTC or android stuff on it at all). When I try to apply your driver the systems pops up a message saying:

"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software driver for your device. If the folder contains a driver, make sure it is designed to work Windows for x64-based systems."

And it says the same for the 32bit system, but instead it obviously says x86-based systems..

I have definitely downloaded the correct driver...Don't know what's going on.

Cheers.

Hmm, the drivers do check the USB signature of the phone.

What version of the phone do you have? When did you get it? Wondering if its a new hardware revision of the sensation.

Please go to your device manager and find the unknown device, right click and go to properties then do the same in the screen shot and share your USB ID

For example mine says: USB\VID_0BB4&PID_0C86&REV_0226&MI_01

The device isn't unknown in the device manager. It actually installs drivers when I plug it in. Even on a fresh install of windows.

Edit: Okay I've got it working. For some reason there was no device called My HTC before, it was only I:/ (drive letter), USB composite device, and HTC Android Phone USB Device. The drivers weren't working for these, but for whatever reason the "My HTC" hardware has shown up and accepted the drivers. Thanks for the help !

I see three drivers...are any of them for USB tethering? It seems that Windows 7 doesn't have the tethering driver built in and I've read that it's contained within HTC Sync.

Any chance you have the 64-bit version? These do not work on Win7 64-bit.

That's weird, the package seemed universal to me.
I've just gone through the same process on a x64 machine, and it gave me the same exact files. I attached the new archive still: go ahead and try it.

In case of failure, try launching DPInst_X64.exe from either archive.

I am happy to release my Universal Naked Driver. This is to allow ADB, Fastboot & APX interfaces to work without installing any package much less multiples packages for users with multiple devices. Yes you can just install them and uninstall right away but why bother?

I was annoyed that I couldnt use my Transformer Prime and Galaxy Nexus without having versions and packages trip over each other. My previous post for the Sensation & Galaxy Nexus was helpful so I thought I would bring to XDA the newest Android driver available from source (which they call 4.0) and make it start talking.

Warning: Uninstall any previous driver package's you may have installed and also manually remove drivers by attaching your phone and going to Windows device manager and right click the entry for your phone and select "Uninstall" on the next prompt make sure to select "Delete the driver software for this device" then hit OK and reboot before installing these drivers

    Code:
Google Nexus Devices ADB & Fastboot
    Samsung Devices ADB & Fastboot
Asus Devices ADB, Fastboot & APX
    HTC Devices ADB & Fastboot

    Code:
    [B]Windows 8 Instructions[/B]

How to Disable Driver Signature Enforcement in Windows 8:

From the Metro Start Screen, open Settings (move your mouse to the bottom-right-corner of the screen and wait for the pop-out bar to appear, then click the Gear icon).
    Click ‘More PC Settings’.
    Click ‘General’.
Scroll down, and click ‘Restart now’ under ‘Advanced startup’.
    Wait a bit.
    Click ‘Troubleshoot’.
    Click ‘Advanced Options’
    Click ‘Windows Startup Settings’
    Click Restart.

    Enjoy!

    Great idea.
I went ahead and did the same for Win7 x86:

You are welcome, I hate installing stuff I don't need.

You would extract the drivers first to any temp folder, once phone is plugged in you system will look for drivers and when it cant find them you would point it to your temp folder.

When that happens it will copy the files it needs from the temp folder to windows drivers, after this process the temp folder is no longer needed.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

I just thought it would be easier to post this HTC naked driver so you do not have to install any HTC software. Just grabbed it from the installer and repacked it for your convenience.

I only did 64 bit for now

    Enjoy!

This is ¡much bueno! You have been "THANKS"-ed accordingly.
