I'm in the process of downloading the source code for Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0. I followed the procedures from source.android.com/source/downloading.html and encountered an error in the step "repo sync."

I do not know what causes the error. If someone can point me to the right direction, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the message when it encountered the error:
Code:
From https://android.googlesource.com/device/samsung/tuna
* [new branch]   ics-factoryrom-2-release -> aosp/ics-factoryrom-2-release
* [new branch]   ics-mr0                        -> aosp/ics-mr0
   99d7b44..53988ab    master                 -> aosp/master
* [new tag]       android-4.0.1_r1             -> android-4.0.1_r1

error: Exited sync due to fetch errors

Oh man, thank for this simple, yet effective advice. Over the last two days I had tried a miilion bits of internet advice, none helped.

I probably repo sync'd over 100 times.:)

My build server is real old and has only the one core. So instead of -j16, or even -j2, I had to just plain repo sync. With only that one connection thread, whenever there was a network hiccup, on my end or the overworked cyanogen servers, it would:

Repo exited due to fetch problems.

repo sync -f allowed it to wait out network problems. Thanks a bunch.

I know this is an old thread but I'm having issues with this very error and none of the solutions I've found have worked. Basically, it's just as the OP states. At a random point during the download of source, this error pops up and sync is exited:

error: Exited sync due to fetch errors

I've tried the above fix using $ repo sync -f but it still errors. I've gone through all the steps to set up my build environment on Ubuntu 10.10 and have had no problems up to this point. Any help is greatly appreciated. TIA
