JVZ... ladies and gentlemen, we have reached the end of the alphabet!

Is this branded or not? I'm tempted to flash but the modem is still JVT (assuming from the name). Usually leaked firmwares have a modem with the same name as the firmware (ie. in this case it should be JVZ). So I'm guessing this is a kies release.

Hi,

I had a look into the firmware without flashing it.

Strangely I could not find a market inside. Can you confirm after flashing you have a Google market installed and working?

Thanks
Andi

It has a APBOOT file too... checked Phone Boot Loader update in Odin added that file to bootloader. Just finished installing it and I'm gonna tell you more details :).

It had Android Market 3 installed but updated to the latest version as soon as I entered the market.
It doesn't have romanian language... Quadrant first gave me a score of 1100 (JVR gives me a 1600+ from start) :\.

EDIT: Currently trying out 9mm to see if there's some GPU improvement (new drivers or something).

Quadrant is crap.

With JVT OC to 1440 ~4000
With CM7 OC to 1400 ~2900

And CM7 is a lot smoother.

Ok, 9mm seems smoother and after exiting the game Quadrant gave me 1394. Gonna try Shadowgun now!
What can I do to get romanian language into this firmware??

EDIT: Second run on Quadrant gave me the normal 1670 score now.

Branded? Non branded? Official from KIES or leaked?

For the love of god - please post some basic info BEFORE masturbate with quadrant!

    Mod: Battery+WhiteOverglow+CRT-Off+ext.Powermenue

    Hi all,

as per request of gsw5700 (and because I did it for my personal use of course :)), a native XWJVZ mod that includes the following:

    - display battery percentage again (green circle)
    - change "ugly" blue overglow to smart white overglow
    - enable CRT off animation
    - add extended power menu

So if you are missing these functions, feel free to flash the attached file XWJVZ-ODEX-Boeffla-Mod-V1.2-(crt+batt+whiteover+extPower).zip in CWM.

If you want to undo, just flash file XWJVZ-ODEX-OriginalTheme.zip in CWM and you are back to stock.

As always: Flash on our own risk! And this mod is only for ODEXED stock firmware!!! (the one in this thread)

    Have fun.

    Cheers
    Andi

thanks for clearing this up. Just waiting for a theme and its flashing time :)

    Hi !

This is really easy to achieve even without going through the decompile/compile hassle.

    - You extract file framework-res.apk out of the zip.

    - Then you open the apk in a zip manager capable of doing it, e.g. 7Zip freeware.

    - In one of the drawable folders (currently cannot remember the exact path and have no way to look it up quickly), the following two graphics are located:
    overscroll_edge.png
    overscroll_glow.png

    - Just replace these two images with the original ones and put the framework-res.apk back to the zip.

    - Flash this modified zip in CWM, and you should have the blue overglow back again.

    Good luck
    Andi

I like all in your mod, except white overgrow, how can I change white overgrow to stock overgrow? I don't know replace what images file from rollback.zip to mod.zip.

P.S: Sorry for my bad English :D

Shadowgun runs a bit smoother but it still has fps drops.
Devs... HELP, i'd like to get the good old bounce effect back! Lukiqq did it in his Supersonic ROM... How can I implement it, that and the romanian language?? Those are the only things that could stop me from getting back to JVR... I HATE overscroll glow!
