I need a kernel that supports device loop so i can try and run ubuntu alongside android for testing purposes. Can anybody help me here? I have already installed ubuntu on my sd but it wont load and I suspect it is because of the loop device feature.

If you own a Gingerbread Stock Rom you already have loop support built inside the kernel...

You can verify it checking for /sys/block/loop? folders...
