"Geniatech, M1 Android 4.020 120420 Version Released
M1 Android 4.0 20120420 firmware work on Geniatech’s ATV1000/2000/3000/300/
310/510 model with 512M RAM. It is unstable on 256M RAM models.

Download Android 4.0 firmware from here:
http://www.geniatech.net/down-eng/An...420_M1_4.0.zip

Download and don’t unzip, change the file name to update.img, all are small characters.
And, please check you did not hide the extension name of the file on PC.
1. If you are using android 2.3(as long as the Uboot version is 20111102 or later version in setting->about device), please copy the file into SD card and insert to the box. Then, go to setting->privacy->update system to update firmware directly, the box will restart after finished.
2. If your box is working with android 4.0 beta version, please copy the file into SD card or USB disk and connect to the box, then run Upgrade app (there is an Upgrade icon on 4.0), select update.img file in local update option to upgrade.
3. If you want to degrade to android 2.3:
A: Download below firmware http://www.geniatech.com/down-eng/An...te20120111.zip
Don’t unzip, change the file name /format to update.img, the same upgrading steps as above.

Fixed problems base on Android 4.0 beta version:
1. Enlarged mouse icon
2. Fixed no audio on Ypbpr output mode issue
3. Fixed some buttons did not work on remote control issue
4. Updated flash player 10.2 which supports hardware decoding ICS version

Please note CVBS output/USB camera/3G dongle/Geniatech’s TV dongle
have not been supported yet."

ATV-3000
Hey guys, stupid question. Anyone got either a digital copy of the atv-3000 manual or a set of instructions re: SATA installation ?

I got a box with no paper or CD or any reference. Just the ATV 3000 and it's hardware parts and trying to get a SATA 2gig drive working inside it.

Any help appreciated.

Edits:

VPN's on Pivos ICS..

Quote:

Bit of feed back for you on Openvpn for Android by Arne Schwabe
I am using TCP port 443.. Working fine.. streaming youtube now from behind GCFW.
What I found on connect was..
On Ethernet - It will connect, but then it will turn off the Ethernet connection so the connection drops..
Turn on Wifi, Open the Openvpn connection again and it connects, Ethernet connection also shows up for a bit..
Drops off.. but connection is kept on Wifi..

So by using DroidVpn or OpenVpn for Android, or Via a VPN'ed connection on a laptop/USB-doggle from a desktop via "Connectfiy" your users can be using the Xios ICS with VPN's as is..

System enharncements:

I am using a few programs to make this build run sweet.. the following are the programs I using and its up to yourself to do some reading and work out which things to tweak.. but mines running as sweat as it ever has.. NO LAG or RE-DRAWS.... and Google Play store is not sticky anymore.. !!!
Also as a note I am running Livewall papers in the background "Ocean HD" so this is taking up 15mb of Ram.. but I do shut down any Google Play Store and Google services so that they are not chewing the fat..

Rescan Media ROOT
Disable and Kill the media scanner at boot.

Pimp My Rom -
Take your time with this one and work out what settings work for you..
I suggest you go in and use the Tools>Universal Init.d Support -- to Check that it is setup for you..
if it say negitive just hit the Activate button then test.. works for me..

https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...m&feature=sear ch_result

Also, there is a Entropy Generator no 5.. you want to have this set so it is showing "4096 bits"
you can also use this program to check it it working..
Check Random Entropy

If you want to know more head to this post on XDA:
[MOD] CrossBreeder - Sharp reductions in Android GUI lag - Frandom support

So really now with the XAF Custom build of XBMC and this setup I am good to go..

Well.. good to sell it and upgrade to a Dual-core..

VMedia VBox
Hi. I have had this doorstop Geniatech box sitting around for a couple of years. It's from a Canadian IPTV provider, VMedia. I'd like to do something with it.

I downloaded some apps but nothing could ID a model.

Anyone out there have one of these?

Thanks!
