if the blacklight problem remains:

3- Turn off wifi and connect through adb shell (or do it in terminal emulator)
write this:

Code:
adb shell
cat /proc/kmsg > /sdcard/kmsg.txt
4- turn the screen off with power button (should turn on because of the problem)
wait untill the backlight turns on and turn the screen on

5- repeat step 4 (helps to eliminate redundant data in the logs)
6- press ctrl + c in adb or close terminal to stop logging
7- on adb shell (or terminal emulator) write this

Code:
logcat -d > /sdcard/logcat.txt

After Producing the logcat.txt and kmsg.txt post them here along with following information..
1. Which rom are you using(cm7,miui,cm9)
2. Whether you are facing blacklight issue or not??..(post even if you are not facing blacklight issue)
3. Search inside your 'kmsg.txt' for the following line....
Code:
[LCD] nt35510_ldi_poweron_sony()
OR
Code:
[LCD] nt35510_ldi_poweron_hitachi()
and post which one you have...
NOTE: you can use the find option in your text editor on your pc for finding this line by typing "LCD" in query....

I want to make sure that this isn't causing this issue:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1546600

Can you test it on your current rom?

Thanks in advance

Galaxy SL is shipped with 4 types of LCD Panels. There might be some issue in the kernel. We will work to see if we could replicate it.

Shouldn't be any issue. The backlight bug occurs even when there are no notifications. So, it may not be due to BLN.
