I found my battery was alot better after I ran it from full to empty once after I installed the ROM. But as others say smartphones do not have great battery life especially after a hard days use.

No, SoD never enter the reboot. You're suffering a nice clean FR (force reboot)!
Google Maps works perfectly well without any need to mod with the coolya kernel that is default in CM, your problems are coming from changing kernel, and the solution as to why custom kernels break some sensors requires a knowledgeable dev. Coolya fixed his compass code recently, so that fix may be what conflicts with custom kernels, you'll find that fix in the github sources...

cm ROMS always have worse battery life than stock (widely documented) so actually it is normal.

It works ok on vo-1 so I guess vo-1 did something to fix the issue
Also on vo-1's build the compass is fixed, however GPS locks very slow as well as losing lock fast so I think I may be having the same lagloose fix issues you stated
.The problem is I have to change kernel, the stock lacks features I need.
Finally the force reboot occured without changing the kernel as well, only the compass was unique to the kernel.

s2e is fine here. Although I am not using official right now I did use s2e on latest official and worked ok.
yeah! thank yall for answer, i dont know what happened, i flashed it again and works fine, i think it happened because id delete some apps i dont use, like gmail, talk, torch, and something like 'androidfy' that i never had seen before O_O after that the problem appeared. but now its ok! cheers

- Stock ROM Gingerbread 2.3.x
- Install CWM Recovery 5 (preferably)
- Wipe data/factory reset
- Wipe cache partition
- Wipe dalvik cache
- Install zip from sdcard > choose zip from sdcard > update-cm-7-NIGHTLY-cooper-signed.zip > yes install
- Reboot system!!
first boot may take 2 to 5 minutes maximum!

5GPS works fine in the UK without the lagloose fix for me, but I do use my own custom gps.conf. I've decided not to use the lagloose fix any more as I don't quite know what the other possible effects are of overwriting hardware libraries with stock ones (I had GPS completely fail after I applied the itasoulas/lagloose fix and only an update to an official CM7.2 nightly without the fix restored it a couple of weeks ago)...
By the way, there is another nightly out *after* the RC3 from yesterday with one additional fix:

Afaik no official member of cm or teamhacksung team actually had an ace except for coolya. Thats what occasionally pissing me off when everyone keep judging him and say hes lazy or anything. For gods sake hes working alone! And look where we are now, nightly build with stable in the horizon. </rant over>
Sent from your phone5After too much many SoDs in the last 24 hours (before having none on other roms), I've compiled a kernel (from Kolja's sources in https://github.com/teamhacksung/android_kernel_samsung_msm) and made a flashable zip with updated proprietary files for testing.
Please test and report results. I've only tested it on Kolja's last nightly (20120514), but should work on other CM7 roms (only on cooper).
