I have been told that if you update to 4.2.1 and try to use twrp that it won't mount /system due to some kind of new encryption introduced by the update, or that a password is required to access it, whatever. If this is in fact true, then you can't flash zips to /system, which is what I would need to do in order to re-root after the update. I'm trying to validate truth to that after the new 2.4.4.0 twrp. That's all.

So far they don't think it's encryption related. More so kernel related and partition mappings related.
So people on the 4.2.1 build still cannot flash anything in the new recovery?

There are still a few bugs to work out. There is no password prompt now and data, cache & system can be mounted, can't mount external sd at this point but everything else seems to be working fine, although by the time this is released tomorrow this may be sorted.

this is not 100% working a few small issues, but seems to be a wroking twrp 2.4.4.0 ... .
I have installed 4.2.1 using zip from Asus website. All i want now is root. I have flashed twrp 2.4.4.0 from twrp website but it is asking for a password. With this one will i be able to install root? Or is the same as the one from the website?

Those of you with the Android 4.2 update can use this build of TWRP:

External sdcard doesn't mount. We're using a kernel from the TF700T. We probably won't be able to have a fully working build for the TF300T 4.2 update until Asus releases their kernel source.
