Hello Evo 3D users!

I'm seeing a lot of people asking how to check MD5 on roms and kernels, and a lot of people that have corrupted .zip files.

Here is a small tutorial on how to check the MD5 sums:

Step 1:
Download the attachment.

Step 2:
Unzip md5.zip and launch md5.exe

Step 3:
Look up the MD5 sum of the .zip (for rom, kernel, anything), (example on Viper3D rom: e8d262b569b912c82b7a43168441831b)

Step 4:
Copy it to clipboard (Ctrl + C).

Step 5:
Press Paste in the md5.exe program.

Step 6:
Press Browse and look up your rom.

Step 7:
Wait for it to complete.

Step 8:
All done!

----------------------------------------------------------
If it worked successfully, you should see the image above, if the MD5 didn't match, you should see this:

----------------------------------------------------------

Hope this helped, and for now:
HAPPY FLASHING!

It's used to make sure you have the exact same version as the original file.
Every file has it's own md5, which will be generated by a set of files inside the .zip. If the file is even 1kb different, the entire md5 is different as well.

It's also used as a security check, say you want to download a file, and someone added malware to it, then the md5 is different then the original.

This one, MD5 & SHA Checksum Utility, looks better because it does multiple codes, e.g. SHA-1, MD5, SHA-256.

I found it while downloading your recommended tool.
