I have three questions
1- Is it running on last firmware?
2-Does it run Custom ROM, runs anyone?
3- On the page that is linked to this thread, the file is on .ISO extension, and its size is about 1GB, but the one attached to is a .APK with 4 MB, what's the difference?

Okay so I Installed this, cloned my Stock ROM over to a slot.. But I thought you could install any JB (Since I have JB Kernel) custome ROM.. seems it has to be SS compatible.. But since at one point the bootloader was unlocked they stopped developing these roms? So pretty much anyone with a newer OTA is still completely screwed as far as running ANY Custom roms? :( Or can someone show me some roms I can run with SS?

You can't run any JB ROM, like you said, it needs to be built to boot on SS. There is one current SS ROM over on DroidRzr.com: http://www.droidrzr.com/index.php/topic/26496-rom-jb-9201-ragehd-v23-9182013-update/ . There are other SS ROMs running around, but they haven't been developed since April. If you run into one of those and want to use it, you'll run into kernel issues, like the gallery not working and WiFi not working.

Hey fellas, good morning!

I have a friend with the xt925 on 4.1.2 official and my doubt is if I need to unlock the bootloader in order to install Safestrap or is not necessary?
It´s already rooted and ready to try custom roms!

Thanks in advance!

safestrap was made for locked bootloaders, although it will work on unlocked, however you can only flash roms that work with safestrap. most of the safestrap roms are over on the razr forum, not here on xda. you need to unlock the bootloader to flash the roms here such as cm-11 etc.
unlocking the bootloader and not using safestap will give you the best option of roms with the most current android versions. safestrap roms are generally built off stock and will have less options.

I cant get any of the rom managers to function, unlocked and rooted xt926. I just got finished trying safestrap, says it is loaded, do not get menu at startup. Any suggestions?

Out of curiousity, why are you using safestrap?

Sent from my ATRIX HD using XDA Free mobile app

I am not using safestrap, that is the problem. I know it is for locked bootloaders, so I tried it in an effort to get ANYTHING working. I cant get any ROM managers/recovery to load at all. Wanted to see if it was my phone, or maybe the bootloader really was locked even though I get the code saying it is not. Really just trying to get away from the stock ROM.

Seems now that something may be wrong with my phone since I cant even get Safestrap to work. Would like advice because I may just be missing an important step somewhere, I am a novice at this and all of the guides I have found give no results. (no brick either )

Updated Safestrap for RAZR-HD/Atrix-HD to v3.12:

Download the APK Installer Here for "RAZR-HD/ATRIX-HD"
    md5sum: 9b3d75e84c06d1e71af1bf1bad57faf3
FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS: How to Safestrap

    CHANGES:
[01/04] (3.12) Fix initial file selector location for backup/restore
[12/29] (3.11) Allow use of custom updater-binary in .zip files for flashing on stock ROM (virtual slots still use prebuilt updater-binary in recovery).
[12/29] (3.11) BUGFIX: Fixed fake flash error at the end of a .zip install. (No real error, .zip installs fine)
[12/29] (3.10) Early support for booting custom ROMs on stock partitions. * STILL TESTING -- BUGGY*
[12/29] (3.10) Enable flashing to stock ROM
After .zip installations, nandroid restore or system wipe on the stock ROM: the current Safestrap files are restored to the system partition (Doesn't include the APK in /data -- so if you're restoring an old backup, be sure to update the Safestrap APK)
During the Safestrap files restore a check is done to be sure there are minimal files on /system to re-enter Safestrap
[12/27] (3.07) Bugfix: missed some changes in Safestrap 3.06
[12/26] (3.06) Bugfix/Update for JB4.1 OTA for DroidRAZR (Non-JB devices can also use)

    SPECIAL THANKS TO:
    - The entire TWRP team who has built an AMAZING recovery system.
    - The testers (BigDX) which have helped in past and present versions of Safestrap, knowing that it could mean they brick their devices.

As always let Hashcode know what you think!!!

For users running jellybean leak only
INSTRUCTIONS for getting STOCK running on a rom-slot:

[ EDIT: 11/15, Removed fix-rom-slot.zip from instructions. It's no longer needed and screws up paid apps. ]

    STEPS:

    1. Install Safestrap 3 from the above notes
    2. Reboot into recovery
    3. Make a backup of your stock rom slot
    4. Go into "Boot Options" and create a new rom-slot (if you haven't) -- 1GB data is probably good enough for most users
    5. Once that is created it may say "rom slot: off" at the top, make sure to go back into the new rom-slot and use "Activate" button
    6. Now use the "Restore" button on the main menu to restore the backup you made of stock to the new rom-slot
    7. When that's done restoring, use "Wipe" -> "Factory Reset" and then "Dalvik Cache" from the main menu
    8. At this point you should have a full working copy of the stock MotoBlur ROM on a rom-slot which you can flash and modify w/o fear of bricking.
    9. Reboot and enjoy

IF USERS on STOCK ICS want a method for getting that onto a rom-slot as well, let Hashcode know.
