Hi Guys,

I don't really know what happened to my Note 2. I'm just browsing photos then suddenly it froze and restarted but it is stuck at the FIRST boot screen:

Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-7100.

There's 2 boot screen right?
1.) The white text on black background, 'Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-7100"
2.) Then the animated Samsung logo.

I'm stuck at the first one.

I tried to access its recovery (press and hold - volume up button, home button, power button). It just boot again to screen 1.
I can only access, Odin mode ( press and hold - volume down button, home button, power button).

I tried to flash it using Odin with official samsung rom, but no good. it still boot and stuck at the first boot screen.

What should I do to have a recovery mode? I don't mind if it's official samsung or a custom one.

UPDATE:
After reading some threads and searching for the cause of the problem, well, that thing, i must say that "Reboot of Death" LOL! happened under normal use, stock, unrooted Note2s.

Some threads with the same problem.

I tried these stuff (didn't work for me):

Note 2 Toolkit

CWM+Root

TWRP

I guess I need to read more and research more.
I think we should consolidate this thread into one.

If you know how we can find the fix for this kindly help us.

Thanks!

Try to closely read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1923956.
Then try to use Note 2 Toolkit.
Does it work?

Among other features, this one (as stated on their thread):
Quote:

  • Flash Stock Boot Image back to your phone

Go to download mode and flashed CWM first. After flashing CWM wipe dalvik, cache partition & then data reset. U will loose downloaded apps or sms & call logs.

Later flash a new firmware thru pc odin & the phone will start perfectly. Give a try. Hope it works for u. Its a risk but give a try.

No need to send it for warranty. If your warranty is not expiring now then continue using it. I dont think it is a serious problem.

Thanks a ton ! Your method worked like a charm... Was so scared that I might have bricked my phone... Successfully flashed CWM and then decided that I would never change out from CWM.

I flashed CWM and Wiped cache and then did a restore from a Nandroid Backup and .... phew.... the GN2 is back rocking !!!!

Re: [HELP] Can't boot to recovery - Stuck from first Boot Screen
Iv been having similar issue.. I always use odin mobile for flashing zip files or updates kernels etc. Under rom manager I can flash latest cwm recovery but then when I push power button and select reboot into recovery the phone reboots but gets stuck in a bootloop I can then boot into download mode using 3 button combo but thats all I can do. I have to reflash cf_root file which solves the problem and brings the phone back to life.. can anyone shed some light on this issue. Im paranoind about trying to boot into recovery incase it keeps happening as I dont want to have to keep reflashing. This is my current set-up
