As a lot of you seem to have issues after updating FB on our roms, non have really stated which roms your using so im assuming this is wide spread for us.
Now i had the problem when i updated to new version and my phone kept restarting on my ROM. I opened the app, app run fine, quit the app and all of a sudden phone reboots and never come back on. did this several times.
I removed new version and installed an earlier one and it seems fine.
If you have these problems please say so but in the mean time Ive hosted some of the older Facebook.apk for you to download and go backwards.
You may also be having problems if your using Facebook messenger, again restore back one.

Stock roms are going to present a problem. non rooted roms have no chance!
Rooted roms you may want to uninstall Facebook chat as well as there both linked together.

I still use v1.9.9 as it presents no problems for me.

The procedure that's best is as follows.

uninstall Facebook.apk only with either link2sd or titanium backup. make sure its removed then wipe the cache, this is best done in recovery. reboot then install which version you want.
Installing another version over the top will still keep the data installed on the phone.
If you are using the HCTFacebook.apk (IE FB Button) wipe the data on that too!

I'm currently on Facebook v1.9.6 and have been prompted to update. I get occasional problems where it starts but can't load anything but the basic page (i.e. a blank FB page with the top row of buttons), so there's a temptation to update.

If I do, what's the best strategy in light of the issues people are having? Backup apps with Titanium, then update FB? Any advantage, do you think, in updating to 1.9.9 via your link, backing that up, then trying to update to the latest version?

(Still happily using your X Series v.11 ROM)

i have tried updating to the new version same with messenger and it just keeps fudging up. so for now i will carry on using 1.9.9 and previous messenger.

to update it you will have to remove any version you have, i would only recommend rstoring via TB if its an earlier version to the newest and again remove the old one first.

after numerous of trys it seems that FB.20 doe not like being a System app.
ive attempted to run this on my new roms so see how you fair. it worked for me while i crash tested it

i have v11 with perflock and data2sd. fb 1.9.6

fb app didnt work initially but earlier today i was using skyscanner app and tried the share option in that app.
it launched the fb app and was able to connect and log in no problems

checked it a couple of times through out the day by launching the fb app and friend stream and seems to be ok for now.

cant post in the other thread but for info i have not been able to flash v12 or holo v3. just get to the htc white screen as per other 2 posts.

Ok ta,I'm working on finding the fault with boot.
As for facebook its **** right now that's all I can say lol. Some people have it working others don't, took me ages to get it working for me.

hey umm i havnt had much luck in getting the facebook issue fixed so ermm can someone help me to revert to original stock rom like absolutly stock like boot loader locked and everything/

not many people have had luck. it seems cm7 users don't have a problem using it...
locked bootloader is pointless but can be done by reversing the unlock.bin code you got sent ie using the dos cmds, instead of the unlock cmd lock it instead. as for absolutely stock wipe data/cache etc and reboot if your on stock anyway. note if you lock it and loose the unlock code you got sent it cannot be unlocked again as you have already done it.....keep that email safe!

um.. i am a newbie here but im trying every single one of the stocks(stock, stock and root, stock,root and apps 2 sd) but i seem to be having problems with all of them..
the SU dosnt work for some reason??

i think it would be best to like totally factory reset my phone to 2.3.3 original stock any everything..

Farrago, fshami and holo 2 have been personally tested by me and have got proper Facebook app working. Anyone still facing problems?
