Official Ubuntu Devices to hit shelves in October ALREADY! suck on that BlackBerry

http://www.redmondpie.com/first-ubun...-this-october/

Are u eager to see this on your device or are u waiting?

If Ubuntu were to get support for android apps (I'm sure the devs here would work something out) what would be your stance then?

Do u see this OS having a chance?

Do u think a true open source OS can be profitable?

Do you think Ubuntu can topple 1 of the big boys

Do people who plan on getting a Linux device actively use another form of Linux?

I sure would... Using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. So naturally, an Ubuntu phone would be fitting. But it would be difficult to move away from the apps on my GNex.

This is the exact reason why I don't think I'll be an early adopter if it comes to the LG Nexus 4. I was really looking forward to Ubuntu for Android but since I can't run my Android applications that I've purchased nearly $200 all up I don't think I'll be moving over any time soon.

Y do people keep saying that android isn't Linux its based on Linux Google made fundamental changes its not like u can take a linux PC app and run it on your phone Linux is simply the kernel that the actual OS is based on

Exactly. Same boat as u. Besides Ubuntu providing a new UI and some gestures, i think, to me, the novelty of it would eventually wear off anyway and I'd get back on Android.

Looking forward to seeing it's progress. I'm due an upgrade in April and I hope to find an Android device that has a custom ROM running it so I can play

Of course, I maybe really tempted to put it on my N7, but I'm yet to root it...

I'm really looking forward to this and will not hesitate for a second to install it!

and the leaving android issue will most likely be solved by dualbooting both
