Basically: use the patched TWRP in the OP. You can try other recoveries, but do so at your own risk.

That is what goo manager installs....TWRP, just wondering if goo manager will successfully detect what device and bootloader you have and try to install the correct TWRP for the device. I'm just glad I am not in that other guy's position of not having a recovery I guess...

well first of all i doubt the devs of goo manger are gonna edit the app just for one device, with one firmware version. and i checked that post you linked.. it looks like goo manger didn't work (expected) but i did see another idea that may work which was to flash the correct twrp via terminal emulator. the instructions to do so are on the team win website, just make sure you get the twrp.blob from here NOT for the team win website. Try that and report back, IMO that is your best idea at this point. and flashing via terminal seems wayyyyy safer than using an app like goo manager.

Just for the record it wasn't me having the issue, it was the other guy 5-10 posts back. Yeah I saw the terminal emulator one and I think that would work providing you type out the right commands for the right partition.

No, goo manager will download the newest version of twrp for your device. I think for the tf300 it just says no recoveries found. Either way it wont find the correct one. That is why I don't recommend using an app like this on the tf300

Oh yeah I know I was directing that at the other guy (sorry I'm too lazy to go see what your name was) =) I'm just trying to help him out (if he is still following along) as well as anyone else with this issue as I have seen wayyy too many people with this problem. I will try to test goo manager and terminal methods tonight if I have time.

But we should probably move this to another thread/PMs cause we are getting off topic and clogging up this thread.. Sorry OP

Hey guys quick question..

I just updated to 4.2.1. I'm unlocked and I flashed TWRP 2.4.2 however I cannot see any of my .zip files from recovery. I have also tried various versions of TWRP but the SuperSU zip file doesn't show up in recovery. Any ideas? I have read through the forum but haven't found a solution that works for me..

Is TWRP 2.4.2 short for TWRP 2.4.4.0-4.2?
If yes, where exactly did you put the zip files?
If no, you did not read the forum very carefully.

TWRP 2.4.2 is not compatible with the bootloader for JB 4.2.1. The patched version of TWRP for our bootloader is in the first post of this thread, it is under "[UNLOCKED BL]-- Installing TWRP (Recovery) -- "
I would post a link, but i can not.

Does this guide still work after the recent update? (still on 4.2.1)

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.
