DEVELOPERS ONLY
These builds are very unstable and should not be used on a daily base. It's pretty much just a preview of a preview. Use these builds at your own risk!
Ubuntu Touch is not ready for daily usage yet and these builds lack a lot of functionality usually available in Ubuntu Touch - you have been warned!
I will publish new builds when new features are done! Please do not aks for ETAs as this is very new stuff to work on, for me.

Information
These builds are based on Andromadus Android ROMs, I use the kernel and device configuration and I would not have anything to deliver yet if I could not use these sources as a base.

You can find the source of my phablet build on Github.
I will host the builds on http://share.cascaded-web.com/phablet-saga/alpha

Credits...
...go to flinny/Andromadus for their awesome work on the saga Cyanogenmod 10.1 port. Which phablet-saga uses as the base.

Changelog
Quote:

2013-04-07_00-35:
Working sound (+phone calls and everything related)
Working GPU acceleration
Fixed some scaling issues (Keyboard and phone dialer) - you need to flash the new quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip to get the scaling fixes
2013-04-01_15-55:
Working WIFI in apps
2013-03-14_00-22:
initial WIFI support (browser does not work but ssh/apt-get/...)
2013-03-04_20-15:
First bootable version

Working
  • Display
  • WIFI
  • SMS
  • Phone

Not working
Everything else...
These are the most annoying things:
  • 3G (not implemented in Ubuntu Touch at all yet)
  • Camera
  • Battery Indicator

Installation
  1. fetch both zip files from the current build
  2. don't forget to create a backup of your current ROM
  3. do a full wipe (system/data/cache)
  4. flash the phablet-saga file
  5. make sure you have at least one gb of free space on /sdcard (else the next flash will fail)
  6. flash quantal-preinstalled
  7. reboot & pray

Current version

Not everything will work in this CM10-based version (read developer preview!), they are just 'showing off' their pretty UI now, even on the Nexus 7 theres stuff that doesnt work. By extensive hacking you might get everything to work

Anyways i hope that the final version will really be something built on Ubuntu's kernel and OS base. Otherwise its just a plain Android 'skin' again.

Great job doing the port man I enjoy seeing every new thing that comes to our deprecated phone :P

Looking forward to try this on the weekend, if I have enough time to.
EDIT:
I have flashed Ubuntu Touch. I also have taken some photos, and will upload them ASAP. Had the same issues, as mentioned.
