Bought this off Amazon (plan to mount it on a 50 watt megaphone use as a soundboard). Didnt find much in regards to troubleshooting, so I thought id post something here.
Cant log into WiFi? Make sure your router is set to Wireless G mode. My Linksys would never connect to it in Wireless N.
Download the latest firmware from Archos. Drop down select the "Archos 28/32/35/43/70/101 internet tablet" option.

Copy the "firmware_archos_android_gen8.aos" file into the root of the device, unplug usb cable and it should start the firware upgraqde, which is mostly tweaks and fixes and does not upgrade Android any further than 2.2 / Froyo.
Once upgraded, download Arctools (right side link / Arctools apk)

Make sure you have WiFi enabled. Load Arctools and download "Default Apps and Marketplace v3.0.26", then install. Wont be too long before Marketplace converts to the Play store. Device is slow, so you need to give it some time to do some things.
