Thread for Galaxy S4 in South Korea (SHV-E300S, SHV-E300K, SHV-E300L)

Mod edit: This thread is for the country specific hardware relase of S4 in Korea. The hardware is different and there are couple of things which require different treatment regards rooting, flashing etc.
No trolling/flaming shall be tolerated here. Users of this thread are requested to report posts and avoid engaging in such.

SGS4 in South Korea has Yamaha's sound codec(YMU831) and the parameters of all of the volumes can adjustable in rom.
/system/etc/ysound.xml does, and I found that the stock values of them limited in 81.
I just changed from 81 to 100 and tested on my sgs4.

Q2 : What recovery can I use?
A :

You can use recoveries for i9500(not 9505) to E300S, E300K(I can't sure for E300L but if you know clearly plz post that)
Now I'm using Chenglu's touch CWM 6.0.2.3 and flashing update.zip and making/restoring CWM backups are working fine.

Q4 : How to root?
A :

1. Change your recovery be CWMed.
Like uppon FAQ, I suggest you Chenglu's CWM Recovery.

2. Download SuperSU v1.32

3. Reboot into recovery mode(VolUP + Power + Home button for few seconds)

4. Flash SuperSU v1.32 you downloaded.

5. Reboot your phone.

6. Enjoy

In 20130519, phyb the developer in matcl announced his work. Thx to him if you want and helped by for your geeky smartphone life

※ You'll meet an error if you disabled and re-enabled su via SuperSU. If you do that, a way to reroot as flawless is just rebooting your sgs4. Then, SuperSU will work fine.

I tested and applied flawless on my SHV-E300S.

It's funtionality is awesome and better than MusicFX or any EQ apps which doesn't require root permissions.

※ Note : Be sure CWM backup first for something unpredicatable situations, and some of functions in this mod consumes battery and system resources much than before you applied.

E300S can access skt hidden mode with 'skt hidden mode +'. You can search it on Google Play.

Q7 : I want to hide the suggested application list when I plug my earbirds at my sgs4. How can I?
A :

Unfortunately, SGS4 doens't have the setting UI about PageBuddy unlike previous sammy android smartphones
So if you want to do that, debloat all of the apps about PageBuddy.

(Or maybe just disable PageBuddyNotiSvc in Settings? I can't sure about this... if someone try and this is the way what I meant, post the reply anytime )

Q8 : My sgs4 mobile data connection looks slow even if I connected in LTE. What should I do to be better?
A :

Disable fast dormacy and disable geltle fair sleeper.

You can use gokhanmoral's FastDormacy toggle in SGS4 to disable fasl dormacy
and you can disable gentle fair sleeper with inputting a line in terminal.
( echo "NO_GENTLE_FAIR_SLEEPERS" > /d/sched_features )
You can apply this code as init.d script or any apps doing like this

Q9 : I want to change the color of notification bar and panel. What should I do?
A :

Install Xposed Framework and Nottach Xposed.

Note : Nottach Xposed is not for SGS4 in Korea as official so if you meet any bugs in use, that's not a bug. Just not fit for.
Note : Don't change the battery icon. If you do that, Nottach Xposed will be applied as abnormal.

Q11 : How to remove the carrier logo on the status bar with editing SystemUI.apk?
A :

1) Open the SystemUI.apk with Alzip
2) Go to res\drawble-xxhdpi and change tw_stat_notify_operator_logo.png into a picture filled blank with overwriting that file.
I attached an image file to change.
Note : If you just delete this image file in SystemUI.apk you want to edit and reboot after paste this, you'll be under endless reboot.
3) Paste the SystemUI.apk into your phone and reboot

Q12 : Is there a way to make a CWM backup and restore it as easy?
A :

You can use Online Nandroid Backup and Nandroid Manager,

You can make a CWM backup without rebooting into recovery via Online Nandroid Backup.
(Note : If you want to use this flawless, install busybox stericson's one)

You can restore a cwm backup and flashing 'update.zip's as you want as possible without rebooting into recoveryt via Nandroid Manager.

Not only bootloader but also the fixed kernel.
In other words, it doesn't on latest one.

For now with latest sammy build, yes. Latest way to root is flashing kernel fixed for. All of latest sgs4s are same on this problem.
Fortunately, a way to root appeared. You'd check the main post

One thing that I would do to help make this thread complete is to add the stock non rooted kernels to the OP. That way if someone messes up they can fix their phone without any problems.

If you have stock sammy rom, you don't have to look for the stock kernel.
Just make a copy the stock rom and open the tar package with data compressing softwares(alzip?) and delete files except boot.img in the tar package. Then, that's the stock kernel to turn back.
