How can I disable automatic System Updates on my Galaxy S4 GTi9505?
Yesterday I got this phone, and today once I was connected to my WIFI, it began downloading a System Update bundle.
How can I disable this function to STOP updating these automatically?

Now, I dont even know what System updates or device updates the phone was installing now, but when the phone rebooted, it just said Device Successfully Updated. What was updated, I dont even know. I just pressed Install.

Android version is 4.2.2 even before this update bundle which I dont mind. So I dont know what updates were these.

Please help. And also want to DISABLE this auto updating as well....

So, I want to know two things here:

1. What device or update bundle was the phone installing? I got the phone since yesterday with Android 4.2.2.
2. How can I DISABLE these updates automatically?

And is there a way to check which device updates were installed now? Is it under the Settings somewhere?

Thx

Go to settings->More->About Device->Software update and you'll see there all the options

It updated the phone to a newer firmware so the system will be more stable and contain even less bugs

You need to disable the automatic download function for ota updates through the About Phone settings and then use an autorun manager to disable the software update processes on phone boot and that way you won't have to keep pressing "Remind me in 3 hours"

Ok, where is the autorun manager found on the phone?
Or is this an app?

Thanks'

Anyway, I managed to disable or uncheck the settings for Auto download via the About Phone settings.

There are various rooted apps that can manage the autorunning of apps on boot. But BE CAREFUL if you do use one of these as although changes are reversible, its not nice to mess around in this area

Trust me!!!!!! I will NOT ever ROOT my phone...Or do any of the flashing of ROMs and stuff like that. I read many many steps to do this and its too too risky to do.

I will just disable the automatic updating, thats all is there to it.

Thanks.

That's fair enough, I hope that that has the desired effect for you

I have found a way to disable android update permanently without root.
First go to setting
Tap about option
Click on build number 7 times
(it will unlock your develepor mode)
Now go back to setting and there u will see a developer mode option, click on that
Now disable automatically updates from there
(all done) now the system will not automatically updated by wifi or anything else
