Whenever i try to connect the app to chromecast chrome extension, it displays the name but says can't connect to it......
Pretty coll application. would be perfect for party. I can put my GTab connected to TV/speakers and any iphone or android can send to it.
Though there are some issues, it's a pretty neat app specially for me that I can't get Chromecat yet here.
YouTube and Google music works perfectly for me.
1.The volume control does not work.
2.cant see the cheapcast from the google chrome on PC.

If the track is on the device, then you can't stream it. Delete the track from the device and it should stream to any Chromecast.

That's covered by the OP, this is a beta and Chrome casting isn't implemented yet.
Interesting question. Since part of Netflix is the DRM negotiation and this app likely doesn't have access to the same secure playback facilities, I'm betting it won't happen. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing this is a fairly significant effort.
I tried Google play movies and does not work neither. working with Play music and YouTube right now without audio volume linked.
I hope to use a couple of old retired Dinc's as receivers. If I can get a couple of different devices synched to the same audio stream then I could have a Sonos like whole house wifi audio system without spending $250+ per room.

Well a lot of people have multiple Android devices, so connecting one to your HDTV and casting to it is the same as having to buy a dongle...

166Ok, here it is. The first public beta of CheapCast, an App that let's your Android Device emulate a ChromeCats Dongle. I decided to put this up for free since I believe it could potentially useful to a whole lot of people. If you like it and it works for you, feel free to just use one of the Donation options within the App.

There's a few different versions around, but apparently 0.4 versions crash?
I'm about to test them out myself, but I'm not holding out much hope.
As for why you cannot find the app in the store? As people here have said, it was pulled off the store by the developer because Google changed how Chromecast works. Now the receiving device needs a special key for it to communicate with the casting app. The developer cannot legally add this key to app, as Google don't give them out. If the developer put a key in from somewhere else, then Google would probably remove the app, as the key was being used without their permission.

Doesn't look great right now. Too bad since I was using this on my nexusq with CM11.3
Because the Google Cast API changed and stopped allowing for casting.
This app stopped working partially and then completely nearly 2+ years ago.
There has been no development for quite some time.
Project is dead.
Suggest to find an alternative
