i assume no responsibilities from you flashing this, use at your own risk as its not supported just a starting point for other things, but as usual i share

things needed
  • can ONLY be flashed on CWM, twrp wont work so i dont want to see people complaining about a bad flash.

instructions:
  1. DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL CWM *this can be done easily through rom manager*, for some reason twrp doesnt want to flash 4.4
  2. back up all the things! *this means your apps with helium or something and a cwm backup*
  3. wipe all the things! *MANDITORY DONT EVEN ASK TO DIRTY FLASH FROM 4.3* *factory reset, then format /system*
  4. flash rom download in post #2
  5. flash gapps download in post #2
  6. reboot and enjoy

kernel source:
Cl3kener's github

thanks:
dferg for his huge amounts of work on msm8660
Cl3kener for his devotion to msm8660 kernel and huge help
the rest of teamchopsticks for their work
cyanogenmod of course!

+1. Has anyone used this and noticed a difference for the optimization for older devices?

This rom is running pretty sweet Jamie. I know it has some flaws yet but its been very stable and not laggy at all. I noticed in CPU Spy that it rarely pegs out the CPU and yet it's very snappy. Your kernel is doing a great job. Doesn't always like to wake up but will after clicking the volume up/down a couple of times. I'm not up to speed on setting up ART so I don't know how well that works yet. I just had to post an "About Phone" screen shot on Google+, was getting sick of all the Nexus 5 owners bragging it up! LOL Here's a couple of screen shots for any one interested. The CPU Spy screenshot was taken after playing a video game that normally pegs the cpu out a lot and running the AnTuTu.
