1228Mhz!, 1267Mhz is VERY unstable ! :(
Thanks replacing boot.img and flashing rom did the trick to get wireless working for me. Will test it for a couple days to see how overclocking is on battery life.

How do I verify that it is really overclocked and not just higher frequencies being displayed in cpu app?

By the way if you are going to continue development of this kernel you should create your own thread.

Yes, really overclocked, I still have not gained much performance, in set cpu bench, gained only 300ms

I create my own thread these days, maybe receive a little help :p

What is the ideal cpu setting?

200-1228Mhz, I haven't increased much voltage, why I think it's not stable in 1267Mhz.

Sorry for my bad english!

no performance improvements with maclaws cm11 02-03-2014 only for the worse...
antutu score: 9850 @1000Mhz governor: on demand IO:noop
antutu score: 9748 @1200MHz governor: on demand. IO:noop

last test
antutu score: 8775 @1228MHz governor: performance IO:noop
CPU integer 769 cpu float 580

i think the cpu isnt scaling correctly. anyway open a thread ;)

Yea I didn't notice much of a change in benchmark scores. You ever thought about doing a kernel yourself for s3mini?

i think the OC is a placebo-effect.... my score is lower than the maclaws stock kernel

testing only the cpu with antutu shows no gain on performance..
stock settings 97xx points
oc (1228Mhz) 8xxx

Do you work for overclocking in the future?

he already tried once, and it needed more work..
the cpu wasnt getting the desired frequency. it would just bounce btween stock max and the frequecy selected...

oc right now isnt the most needed feature and it will not be much of a gain in performance.

lets face it, our cpu isnt the most powerfull out there..
its a rip-off the NovaThor8500
the CPU it self its the same but the modem part is a bit diferent, so ste-ericsson named it NovaThor U8420.

This chip was aimed for mid to low performance devices.

The ST-Ericsson NovaThor U842 is a System on a Chip (SoC) for smartphones and tablets. It features two Cortex-A9 cores with NEON extensions, a ARM Mali-400 MP1 single core graphics card and a media processor.

Series
Codename ARMv7
Clock Rate 1000 MHz
Number of Cores / Threads 2 / 2
Manufacturing Technology 45 nm
Features ARM Mali 400 (Single Core), LP-DDR2 memory, HSPA
64 Bit no 64 Bit support
Announcement Date 06/01/2011
Product Link (external) NovaThor U8420

and if you dont know STE&ericsson are splited now.

Try my BETA OC Kernel! based on maclaw sources, and added LiveOPP(OC/OV etc etc) SioPlus from CoCore Kernel! Thanks cocafe and maclaw!

I have removed the attachment zip file - please do not post a kernel without also uploading your kernel sources as doing so violates the GNU General Public License v2 and XDA forum rules, I recommend using somewhere like github or bitbucket to upload your sources to.

Maybe in the near future when I´ve added some more fixes into my personal kernel I´m running now. But due to not much time I´m first trying to fix some further issues. My priority would be also not to add higher clocks but undervolting options.

i modded the parameters of liveOPP, get only 1050Mhz stable, but this time improves performance

    Hello everyone.

    This is my first job.

Kernel based on 3.0.101 from Maclaw's source. Tested on my 8190L

It should work on 8190 as well.

    kernel-Chaco-20140116

    • removed plug in do_io_submit() to improve asynchronous I/O latency
    • enabled TCP congestion control with Westwood+ set as default

    kernel-Chaco-20140113

    • enabled RCU priority boosting
    • added VR scheduler
    • added Sioplus Scheduler
    • added some optimization flags
    • compiled with Linaro 4.7.4 modded by christopher83

    kernel-Chaco-20140109

    • based on kernel 3.0.101 from Maclaw
    • ramdisk extracted from Maclaw's boot.img
    • added ROW scheduler
    • compiled with Linaro GCC 4.7-2013.11
    • multi-core scheduler support
    • enabled kernel size optimization
    • LZO as kernel compression method
    • ramdisk compressed using LZO
    • chosen SLUB as SLAB allocator

I would be nice if you try it and test it.

Will try. If you brick my phone,i will find you and kill you.

    Try my beta kernel

Try my BETA OC Kernel! based on maclaw sources, and added LiveOPP(OC/OV etc etc) SioPlus from CoCore Kernel! Thanks cocafe and maclaw!

New version, It just has 2 changes and I made one for CM10.2

Can you make a kernel for cm10.2?

Try I want to test it too! Also are kernels rom-specific or work for both stock and cm ? :what:

Ok. If you make it for 10.2, I volunteer for testing.

I already uploaded it, could you test it?

It may destroy it if you're an idiot overclocking at a high rate, overclocking gives the phone far more stability and speed and battery life is manageable by the governors and schedulers.
