If you want to use any stock based custom rom from big brother Z1 you need:
How to install:
  1. place custom rom (for example from monx), my patch and SuperSu on your sdcard or phone memory
  2. boot recovery
  3. flash custom rom with wipes, then my patch, then supersu
  4. turn off phone
  5. flash 4.2.A.1.142 firmware via flashtool like that

UPD2: Desperanto_Patch_D5503__14.4.A.0.108_TWRP720p.zip 16.3 MB for 108 base...and use any 14.4.A.0.108 ftf for instruction

Thx @[NUT] for his recovery pack

I don't have Z1 Compact and I can't test patch with all roms. My tester tested it with general stock based roms. Because of it I can't say you will it work with ported roms or not.

Sorry for my bad english

ROM: very clean and light stock rom with some tweaks

So, even AOSP ROMs are possible? I.e. CM\AOKP and etc? Or only stock based ROMs?

Tested only stock based. About AOSP don't know...but you can try but you should edit it...because there stock build.prop and its not compatible with AOSP

Cool
This sounds really awesome, but I am not sure if am brave enough to try this. Are there any chances of bricking my phone? Has someone else tried this and can tell me his experience with it, does the new rom work flawlessly?

You can't unless somebody compiles a AOSP kernel.

Yep, tester is here
I've tested that patch, now have this ROM installed yesturday and want to use it before this weekend. First impressions -- it's awesome! Everything works fine.
This ROM was installed at DooMLoRD's kernel
About bricking -- I have an error while installing first build. IMHO, for now maximum possible damage is soft-brick, that can be fixed with your nandriod backup or flashing via Flashtool

Deleting some of the aroma that's made for the Z1 devices firmware. Replace the Recovery's and delete I hacker kernel and replace doom kernel with D5503 version. Replace build.prop with D5503 that's pretty much it, then added my own mods

Think we can get the GPE port of the Z ultra that was ported to the Z1 ported to our Z1c?
