Hi all,

I am really bad with GPRS/MMS/WAP confs, and I can't get my gprs/mms works on my HTC touch diamond.

Simyo Spain (my operator) has given to me a chart with confs I have to set, but I don'r get it to work.

So, I wonder if I could say here the info they gave me and someone could make a XML to me for doing that ...

Code:
* Internet WEB

Name of connection (example): SIMYO Internet
Access Point Name (APN): gprs-service.com
user name: none
password: none
authentication: none
data compression: off
header compression: off

* MMS

Name of connection (example): SIMYO MMS
Access Point Name (APN): gprs-service.com
user name: none
password: none
authentication: none
data compression: off
header compression: off
Proxy: http://mms-services.eu
Use Proxy: yes
Proxy IP: 217.18.32.181
Proxy port: 8080

* Internet WAP

Name of connection (example): SIMYO MMS
Access Point Name (APN): gprs-service.com
user name: none
password: none
authentication: none
data compression: off
header compression: off
Server: http://wap-start

So, could anyone translate this into XML for me?

thanks a lot!!

these are the mms and internet settings for the hermes for 3 ireland.
the phone is not officially supported,in fact no wm5/6 phone is but if you use these settings alls well.
MMS Server: "3MMS"
Gateway: 217.171.129.2
Port: 8799
Server address: http://mms.um.3ireland.ie:10021/mmsc
Connect via: "My ISP"
Sending size: 300K
WAP Version: 2.0

Connect Using: "My ISP"
"My ISP" Settings:
Modem:
3
Cellular Line (GPRS, 3G)
APN: 3ireland.ie
Proxy:
Nothing checked
these settings will give access to web but full service access and streaming wont work unless you address the UA issue.
i use the UA file contained here http://xdaforums.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=36360&d=1175457120
just paste into the windows folder to over write the browser.dll file.
this will give 100% access.:)
Thanks for this, difficult info to find.
Unfortunately I can't overwrite any window's folders, I have tried all the usual, but I can't access that folder, even after enabling all ext's ect.
please help!

FIDO MMS & GPRS Settings

These are the Fido Canada Settings for GPRS & MMS to work. I hope these help someone as they have helped me (after 2 years of no MMS'ing).

GPRS settings

In start –> settings –> connections –> connections
under My ISP, chose “add a new modem connection”
Enter a name for this new connection (I put Fido Internet)
Select a modem — Cellular line (gprs)
click next
access point : internet.fido.ca
click next
username and password : both set to “fido”
Domain : 205.151.11.11
click finish
close this window

MMS Settings

Since I have used ‘My ISP’, I will set up a new connetion which I call ‘My MMS’

Step 1:
in start –> settings –> connections tab –> connections –> advanced tab –> select network –> click new in the first section

– In the ‘General’ tab Enter a name for the connection ( I named mine ‘My MMS’ without the quotes)
– In the ‘Modem’ tab, select ‘New’.
– In the ‘make new Connection’ window, 2 boxes show up. In the ‘Enter a name for this new connection’ box, put in a name (I put Fido MMS)
In the ‘Select a modem’ dropbox, select — Cellular line (gprs)
– click next
access point : mms.fido.ca
– click next
username and password : both set to “fido”
click finish
close this window

Step 2:
open your MMS inbox
go to menu –> MMS configuration
check retrieve message immediately
make sure that “Download on home network only” is not checked… if this box is checked, you will not be able to download your MMS because now with Fido, we are “roaming” on Rogers’s network.
go to servers tab
click new
server name - enter a name for this server (I put Fido MMS)
gateway - 205.151.11.13
port number - 8080
server address - http://mms.fido.ca
connect via : My MMS
Sending size limitation : 250k
Wap version : WAP 2.0
click OK

Cheers.
