Because Microsoft stopped distributing their expenses tool and I don't like the alternatives I have seen, I have programmed a little thing myself.

You can modify the values shown in the lists in order to fit your wishes. Option to export to tab-separated text file for importing in Excel or other program.

Webpage: http://www.sandernijdam.nl/easyexpenses/

Changes:

v0.95.3 (3-1-2010)
  • Renewed and documented command-line options
  • Bugfix of UI in options screen
v0.95.2 (30-12-2009)
  • Much more statistics (open Info and Totals and look in the menu)
  • Option to skip the overview screen when entering a new (quick) entry
  • Slightly faster redrawing of main screen
  • New application icon
v0.95.1 (6-12-2009)
  • Added my own date-picker to purge dialog (the WM6.5 date picker is not shown correctly in the program)
  • Bug fixes (totals this month, date picker, options layout)
v0.95.0 (15-11-2009)
  • Added currency exchange rates (manual rate entry).
  • Added totals per expense type, intended source and payment method to the info and totals screen.
  • Improved editing of currencies (including exchange rates), expense types, intended sources and payment methods in options dialog.
  • Added possibility to hide columns.
  • Added new column with amount converted to primary currency (hidden by default).
  • Showing of converted currencies at various places in the program, including the info and totals screen.
  • Added 'Custom' to expense type choices. This will give a blank edit box which can be filled in manually.
v0.94.5 (21-4-2009)
  • Improved sorting
  • Changed default setting file location to install path
  • Fixed some other small things
v0.94.4 (2-4-2009)
  • Second attempt to fix this bug.
v0.94.3 (1-4-2009)
  • Fixed a bug introduced in 0.94.2 that crashes program on first run after a fresh installation.
v0.94.2 (31-3-2009)
  • Added options to open/save database files. This makes it possible to use multiple databases.
  • Changed default database file extension from .txt to .eef (the file format is kept unchanged).
For older changelogs please visit: http://www.sandernijdam.nl/easyexpenses/

Command line options:
-f filename Starts the program with the specified database. -d foldername Sets the folder for the defaults- and logfile. The defaults file contains the settings for currencies, categories and more. -qe Quick Edit: Immediately opens a new entry using the quick edit method. -sqe Super Quick Edit: Same as Quick Edit, but program closes after entering the new item.
If you have more requests, please let me know and maybe I will incorporate it.

Great work.

Okay, here are some feature requests:
  • Multilanguage
  • Categories and Subcategories
  • Monthly or a specific time period overview about costs
  • Gains & costs
  • Ability to change the order of rows

Will have a look on it.

This.

Nice and simple, but maybe too simple

Very nice though for a start, this should come in handy as I'm traveling soon. Will test a bit and let you know further.

Thanks alot

nice tool
for your next release can you add a total to the list and maybe the posibility to change the location of the database files (a reg value would be best)?
I, as a lot of users, constantly hard reset or upgrade my htc, so it would be nice to have a folder on my sdcard, that would hold all the information this program saves.

What do you exactly mean by this? I think you can just use negative values to add gains. I will add a grand total in the next version. Subtotals may be later.

Oh well, I thought to have it separately to have a better overview.
