Also, if you do post a morph in this thread, please follow some basic content that should be in your post. If you want to post more than one morph, then it is advised that you edit your post to contain multiple morphs so that the thread will stay more organized. If you need more than one post because you hit the text, image limit, or attachment limit then don't hesitate to make another to keep giving your contributions back to the community.
ROMs Compatible With
i.e. Stock/AOSP ROMs such as Cyanogen's, Enomther's, or MoDaCo's Nexus One ROMs
Any other ROM that doesn't fit the 2 above - a link to that ROM would be appreciated.
Also, if you have any .xml or .jar files included, then you should specify which exact ROMs that the morph will work on or was built using.
Version of MetaMorph Compatible With
Does your morph use a .thm or .xml file, or have you included both? This info needs to be placed in your morphs.
If you have some screen shots then it would be nice of you to post them. If you do post a screen shot, and you have extra content not included in your morph visible in the screen shot, then it would be a good idea to point that out.
What is this?
You can put a description of what your morph is and what it changes so that people will be better informed of what to expect from your morph or so that they can know if something goes wrong with your morph.
This is where you place your links or let people know that your morphs are attached to your post.
That covers it for basic information that you should add to your post though you can post as much information as you want to about your morph and are encouraged to.
If you have more than one morph in your post, then just separate each morph with a clear title for each morph. An example of this will be my post below.
If you are lazy like me and have a lot of morphs you want to do, then you can copy and paste the following
ROMs Compatible With Version of MetaMorph Compatible With Screen Shot(s) What is this? Download(s)
Download MetaMorph from the Market.
Download the MetaMorph file of your choice and place it on your sdcard. I have a folder on my sdcard called "morphs" where I place all of my metamorph files.
Open the MetaMorph app, select always allow, then press allow. Select Pick theme. Go to the folder where you put your metamorph files and select the one you want to apply.
If you want to apply everything in the morph, then select apply all. MetaMorph will then begin to run through the process of applying the images to your .apk's. This will take a while if there are a lot of .apk's to be skinned.
Once MetaMorph has gone through the process of applying the theme, You are done. Unless you applied a morph which has framework-res.apk in it, then you will have to reboot your phone, then you are done.
Should I nandroid before applying any of these?
Yes, if you are uncomfortable with applying morphs or think there is a chance you may want to easily revert back to what you previously had.
Do I have to give credit if I use post any work that I borrowed/kanged from someone else?
It is considered a professional courtesy to credit where you got any work that you didn't make yourself, so yes, unless the author has EXPLICITLY stated that he or she doesn't care, even then you should.
Do I have to reboot?
If the morph you applied modified any .jar files or modified framework-res.apk
My widgets are messed up on my homescreen!?!
This happens any time you apply a morph that includes Launcher2.apk/Launcher.apk (if you use it). Just remove them and reset them.
Why should I care about using morphs or Metamorph?
If you have a desire to change the visual appeal or aesthetics of your phone, then you should look into Metamorph
.xml or .thm file?
.xml is the new way that Metamorph is told what to do. It is was introduced in 1.9.7 (I think, I know it is in 1.9.8). .thm is only supported in the free 1.9.4 version of Metamorph. If you place both a .thm and a .xml file in your morph than it should work with either version. Eventually all morphs will need to be updated with a .xml file to work.
