Windows Phone 7 Splash Screen (Animated)

Hi,

Here is my first contribution to XDA, and I'd like to share with you this Boot up Animation I made, based on the real Windows Phone 7 startup.

I hope you will like it.

----------------

How to use this splash screen on your Windows Mobile Phone

1. Download the .zip file below, extract the .gif and the .png files on your phone.

2. With a software like Advanced Config modify the original splash screen like this :

- replace the original splash screen with wp7_splash.png
- replace the startup animation with wp7_anim.gif

You can use only the .png if you want, in order to keep your HTC animation.

Restart your smartphone, and it should now work !

----------------

Updates :
- QVGA-VGA Version in Post 2
- Smoother animation
- Focus/Motion blur in order to have an animation closer to the Microsoft's version.

----------------

Big update

New version with the actual Windows Phone 7 logo (not the old Windows Phone logo as in my first version), as you can see in the second thumbnail below. This version looks very close to the future WP7 version.

Download wp7-logo_splash.zip in order to get the new version.

For QVGA version, i think it is better to have a smaller logo and text.
Moreover, is it possible to add the loading dots as present in the real WP7 splash screen?

BTW, gd job man!!!!!!!!!!!

Good idea, I will make a smaller version for QVGA devices before next week-end.

But I don't know what do you mean when you're talking about the loading dots ?
The boot animation I've reproduced (and also customised a little bit) looks like the one I saw on LG devices, that has not dots. I've seen an earlier stage WP7 that even didn't have the complete animation but no loading dots.

Do you have a link to a video in which we can see them ?

Oh ok I've seen them once. I'll try to remake them accurately.

Can I try this for my motoQ guy ?
I don't own a moto Q device, but it should work. I'll make a 320x240 version, (reversed QVGA) then you should be able to use the PNG to replace the original bootscreen in the Windows directory.
Then, in the registry, you will have to point to the new file here : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Splash Screen

Nice work, I prefer the old version though. :)
So do I in fact, but the new version is closer to the real WP7 startup. But the older shiny Windows Phone logo really looks good. But WP7 is a big step to simplicity, so is the logo.

Cooooooooooool :D but if you add more delay, it would be more nicer !! 2.5 or 3 second would also be standard ;)
What do you mean ? Are you talking about the animation speed ?

Thanks for all your comments.

Looks great, I'll probably use the loading dots version when you make it :p
