I am using GFAN rom and Go SMS. I have never noticed the delay you pointed out. How much time you need to deliver the message? I tried to send an sms to myself and got it back to me in 2 seconds.
I prefer this rom to Nakyup. There are some (not all) pros and cons in my opinion:
Pros:
- Many system apps removed. I don't need to manually uninstall them and worry about what have to be kept.
- Notification bar with 7 icons can be held to open extra settings or touched to toggle.
- Google Maps and Root Explorer pre-installed.
- gps.conf already changed to use Google server to help faster gps locking.
- No hang while charging when the phone is off.
- Battery percentage shows in notification bar.
Cons:
- With Tegrak OC 1.3GHz, my phone hung while playing some heavy graphics games.
- Go Launcher seems more laggy on this rom than on Nakyup or stock rom. Maybe because I have not frozen TW Launcher this time.
- It adds some apps with all Chinese. One of them is actively running with dialer. It displays something under the name of caller. I had to go in and blindly unchecked every checkbox in the app. Some system settings are still in Chinese too.

I noticed the same issue with Go launcher too ( using Tegrak with TW running) but to test that I now included Launcher pro plus and ICS v2 launchers ( meaning three launchers ( I have increased ram usage) but all three seem to be awesome in performance.

Likely conflict could be with tegrak...just my two cents

SKT Hidden Menu
A Hidden Menu by South Korea Telecoms exist in all Samsung M110S known as SKT Hidden Menu.apk ...which can be removed

But this is apparently exposed in GFAN roms but not translated by the developer

How to expose them?

From the dialer enter > 319712358
You will be prompted for a pasword > 774632

These are the settings which SKT hides and for good reason too

1) Network setting

a) Network Mode >Automatic : WCDMA : GSM900 : GSM1800 : GSM1900 : GSM ALL
b) Service Domain> Combine : PS only : CS only
c) Channel Setting channel 10550-10850 > Full : SKT Pref : SKT 1 to SKT 4: KTF Pref : KTF 1 to KTF 3
d) Security Mode > integrity ON, Ciphering ON, Fake Security OFF
e) HSPA Setting > R4 Only : HSDPA : HSUPA ON

2) Video call setting
Video Capability : MPEG4 :H.263: MPEG only: H.263 only

3) USIM setting
Network Personalization (needs password)

4) SMS setting
a) SMSC address setting
b) SMS Pref Mode PS Pref : PS only : CS Pref on : CS Only

5)Waiting Sound
High Gain : Med Gain : Low Gain

6) system
a) Debug Screen
b) SIO MOde > UART :Modem : PDA , USB > MODEM : PDA
c) Version
d) First
e) Last CALL

7) Auto answer > on/off

8) SKT auto test >on/off

9) Never Display timeout > On/off

This page will be updated and linked to Pit Stop

So what does all of that mean?

What is the purpose of having access to these changes?

These are used by Samsung Service Centers to correct Network settings and other settings (that are already preset in a working phone) that can arise when we mess with the phone

Like for instance the SKT auto test setting...resolves minor network errors automatically

Also when we Flash...there are likely chances that the EFS folder can get corrupted making it impossible to connect to any network.
If the EFS folder is erased your phone will not have an IMEI... hence no network connection also. Hence it is most advisable to backup your working EFS folder to your PC or cloud in order to avoid major problems in Flashing.

One way you can backup an EFS folder is to use root explorer and zip that folder to another place.

Hope this answers your question

Easiest way is to flash a rooting kernel as most other one click rooting apks available in the market do not seem to root this version

opps sorry..your version is old ...latest firmware version is 2.3.6 ...best to flash wc13 with rooting kernel, click below links for latest roms and kernels .

Your rom and baseband needs to be updated although you seem to have latest kernel

Nope...your firmware update can normally be done with kies (samsung updater) but it seems you have a hodgepodge firmware and kernel mix. which means kies will not be able to update you

Just learn how to use odin by goggling , its not so hard , i only learned it myself a few months back
