20110215: Hey everyone. Thanks for all of your support and the bug reports and issues. I recently had some life changes that have affected my ability to make timely posts. I took a new position at my company recently and have been doing basically the work of two people until we fill my former position. I am still alive. I am not dead. Nebula ROM is still alive and well. Regarding some of the issues people seem to be having in 1.0.7...the feedback seems very polar. People have had nothing but force closes and tons of issues, or people (aside from a few knows issues) seem to be running pretty smooth. I will be looking at what is going on in the install process, but for the time being, if you are having problems, reflashing after wiping data and the cache partitions seems to fix most of the stability issues. And a special note, if you are having a problem ever, please look at the issues list to see if it has been created. If so feel free to post that you are seeing it, or any additional details that might help in finding a solution. If the issue doesn't exist, make an issue report. If I never see the issue, or don't have a way to reproduce it, it is unlikely to get fixed.
20110309: I have the kernel compiling from source. I haven't tested it, but getting to that point is a start. I won't be including my own kernel in the first few versions of Nebula for stability reasons. Thanks everybody for being patient.

20110507: It's been a crazy couple of months. I still intend on keeping this project alive, but with life + my current workload, photography related stuff, and buying a house, I haven't had a lot of free time. Thanks for all of the support and comments though. I just logged on for the first time in a week or so and was shocked to see this thread still on the first page.
Introducing Nebula ROM:
The purpose of this ROM is to create a fast and stable daily driver ROM that has some niceties baked in. Nebula ROM will not help you impress girls/trolls/idiots with artificially inflated quadrant scores or flashy live wallpapers. It will however, give you the tools to run a stable and powerful OS. I will do my best to make it look good too, but not at the expense of speed or stability.
The target audience of this ROM are professionals, power-users, programmers, nerds, etc. The goal is to increase productivity, stability, and usability over a stock solution. I am an embedded software developer (flash bootloaders), working in the automotive industry. I plan on using the same best practices that one would find at a professional level. Since, I will be using this as my daily ROM, I have a lot of incentive to make sure it meets these requirements.
Download:
You must have a DK28 modem installed. As always, if you are starting from another ROM wipe data, cache, dalvik. Going between 1.0.x should not require a data wipe.

Report ALL feature requests, issues, and defects here...

If you are creating or have created an open issue for a defect, please attach a bugreport. You can do this with adb or aLogcat. I am not getting payed to track down Samsung's bugs and fix them, so requests/defects with too little information will be rejected/ignored.
Changelog:

Notes:
- To install this you NEED clockworkmod 2.5.1.2 or higher.
- This will back up your data, but I recommend you wipe this time around. There are a lot of internal changes under the hood.
- Double super secret extra thanks to Robotic Clone for hosting the direct download link. Thanks to him, you can finally download directly to your phone!!!
...I'm sure there are more. If I missed a shoutout PM me.
- You need the DK28 modem for this ROM. There are 2 ways go get it. Either install the clockwork version from noobnl if you currently have DI18, or ODIN the DK28 from one of the various links on XDA. If you don't know what any of this means...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=861397
- I will try to make some idiot-proof installation instructions later. The current instructions are known to be incompatible with the latest build of idiot.
- Oh yeah, and it isn't my fault if your phone crashes, explodes, doesn't turn on, blinks wildly, drunk dials your ex-girlfriend, smells of strawberries, etc.
Donations/Contributions:
Regarding donations, I do this for fun and for the community. If you like my work and feel compelled to contribute, I will make a deal with you. You check out my photography website: www.lapczynskiphoto.com and we'll call it even. If I still haven't convinced you that I'm not asking for your money you could always buy a print off my site (just don't make it some random people's wedding photos, that's a little creepy). That way you will be relieved of the guilt building up inside you and your wife/girlfriend/husband/boyfriend will think you are a classy art connoisseur. Pretty much a win-win for everyone.
