So seeing this happen a Android Wear (or any Android) for a TIZEN device would be possible??

I'm not sure I understand your question. I think your asking if Android Wear or any Android would work on a Tizen device? If that is your question, then as far as I know no one has done that. The Gear 1 device came with android and can run both OS's. This custom rom is a Tizen rom though for Gear 1 only. Gear 2 came with Tizen only and there is no source with any Android drivers, kernels etc. Same thing for the most Tizen devices atm. Yes Tizen "looks" similar and both are ports of Linux so to say, but it may be some time before we see an Android Wear port for the Gear 1 and maybe never for the Gear 2. This is what I know and could be wrong.

You flashed this on the gear 2? It needs a different kernel.....hmmm maybe it was a typo...:p Unless you swapped in your kernel and bits. Either way good luck.

That's really interesting. I don't know much about the Gear 2, or what cpu it has. But if this Rom is working on it the two devices must be very similar.

How does this compare to null rom?

So far this rom is just stock with a few tweets. Null rom had many many more features but there is no support for it anymore.

I won't ever use any future roms from the dev who did Null. I find him dishonest as he is asking for donations for the Gear Live again after already getting donations saying he was getting another smart watch. Also he is saying the Gear Live is $350 in Australia when it is only $250.

Before anyone had a go at me for that post that is just my opinion.

As for this Tizen ROM i can't wait to give it a go once my Gear gets back from repair.

Understood. I definitely want to have some of the features that null has like the Web Access and play store access etc. If the tizen rom can be that flexible I'll be glad to give it a try.

That's my plan too. I will probably end up getting the Gear Live myself but I still have another Gear 1 at home (my wife's, I'm sure she won't realize the latest "update" is custom).

What is in the battery zip? Is this the fix with the contacts not resync every x seconds?
I already have 4days battery life with a Samsung Galaxy S4 (but with the google rom on it), but the camera and root mod is nice, will give it a try when you're done with 2.0 :good::highfive:

    Hi all my friends, i'm here to present the First Tizen Custom Rom for Gear 1.

    f3x1qh.gif

    Features:

    - Based on the last NF1;
    - Rooted;
    - battery saver tnx to a specific script that help when u use the gear with non samsung phone;
    - boot animation and shutdown animation changed with Tizen stock from emulator;
    - removed camera sound;
    - added Android L font (roboto light);

    New in v2.0:

    - added the options to install custom ringtones, alarms and alerts;
    - added the options to install custom boot and shoutdown animations;
    - added the option to install custom icon (only for stock apps ATM);
    - added the option to install custom fonts (broken ATM... need test);
    - added the option to set cpu governor ( slp ( stock), tizen_phone, ondemand_org, powersave, performance);
    - added the option to set cpu max freq ( 800Mhz, 700Mhz, 600Mhz, 400Mhz);

    New in v2.1:

    - fix for the installation of custom ringtones, fonts etc. IMPORTANT: Audio and Fonts file names don't have to contain space or special char. For audio Mp3s work fine.

    Installation:

    To install this you have first to update the gear to the last NF1 FW:

    1- Reboot gear in download mode;
    2- Download Odin 3.09
    3- in AP field select the ROM file;
    4- Press start and wait till finish..

    HOWTO:

    In order to use all the customization options you need to use sdb:

    1- enable USB debug in the watch settings;
    2- connect the watch to the PC and open a shell
    3- navigate to the folder where u put the sdb binary and then:

    Code:
    sdb root on
    Code:
    sdb shell

    ...now you are in the gear shell, so:

    setup folders with:
    Code:
    setup-folder.sh
    ...this script create some folders on your gear mass-memory, accessible from windows or linux, just copy your ringtones, alarms, alerts, fonts into the relative folders.

    - The custom boot and shutdown animations must be copy into the root and must be renamed to poweron.edj and poweroff.edj
    - The icons must be renamed like the ones u find in the simple theme attached at this post ( take care of the size);

    ...then do these commands to install your stuff:
    Code:
    install-ringtones.sh
    Code:
    install-alarms.sh
    Code:
    install-alert.sh
    Code:
    install-shutdownanimation.sh
    Code:
    install-bootanimation.sh
    Code:
    install-theme.sh
    Code:
    install-fonts.sh

    To adjust the cpu max freq and governor:
    Code:
    set-cpu-governor
    Code:
    set-cpu-maxfreq

    .. a textual menu will be showed, select a number and press enter. The settings will stick over reboot.

    Suggest are welcome.

    Old Version Download:

    - v1.0 HERE

    Credits mpogr for the battery script.

    After 2 hour spent on this i finally understood why fonts and sound are not working.....
