Tell me, what application is responsible for applying Sim Card settings when changing it?
When I insert a card from Verizon, the phone reboots and accepts the customized card, but when I back-insert the card from Sprint, it sleeps the settings for the sprint. So which application does this?
And is it possible after the firmware of the U version, to flash the drain from Verizon?

Hey all my phone was working great running this firmware, only thing I had to do was setup APN

BUT after I had a different issue the sprint tech had me do a ##72786# to force reprovisioning, my phone is stuck w a notification saying "Checking Device Status..." from Sprint OMADM. Nothing progresses on the phone and customer support is saying nothing is happening on their end. We've tried all sorts of things to no avail.

any ideas?

Root phone. Download my android tools pro. Then u can turn off hfa.

Or flash it with verizon firmware. Itll be unlocked, run a better rom, and still work with sprint without hands free activation.

dunno about samsung pay as I don't use it but I think it works.

I finally figured this out by returning to stock preroot 935U SPR. Turns out the root script (root.bat) at the very end deletes all of the packages you need for Sprint activation. So returning to stock and then rerooting did the trick.

Next time if I need to I should be able to copy the necessary packages directly into my /system dir

I'd love to use this on my G935P but I recently updated to QK1 update and I know its binary 5. Currently using DSU by Sprint G935P with Mintsim. Is there any possible downgrade path? Or am I stuck with this ROM for now? I looked around for the root methods etc but it seems like because of my current carrier + update combo, I'm SOL for rooting AND using unlocked or any other firmware :( I also tried flashing the latest T-Mobile ROM but no luck with that either =/

Soft bricked? Is your phone boot-looping? In that case, thats what happened when I flashed this rom and the T-Mobile Rom. All I did to fix that was I kept holding Vol-Down+Home+Power until it finally booted into download mode and I just flashed stock Sprint ROM QJ3 and it fixed my phone.

If its something else, still try to boot your phone in download mode and flash stock the QJ3 update and hopefully that fixes it

Well I can get it into download mode. It doesnt start anymore though, it tells me some crap about "smart switch phone emergency recovery" which I couldnt get to work. Do you by any chance have a link to flash stock QJ3 download you mention?

Ahhh, I also had that "Use Smart Switch Recovery" problem and whenever I tried to connect my phone with Smart Switch on my comp, it would say that the device isn't supported even though I installed all the proper drivers. But yes, flashing with Odin fixed it. What you have to do is keep holding the power button until you finally see the screen shut off and QUICKLY hold the vol-down+home+power while it restarts and it should boot into download mode. Keep trying if you dont get it on the first try. After you get it into download mode, make sure you have the latest Odin version and then flash this. https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935P/SPR/download/G935PVPU5BQJ3/197467/

You're going to need to make an account and the download speeds are atrocious, but all the other sites require you to pay to download more than 2gb so this was what I used =/. Good luck!

Thank you. I was actually able to flash back to the stock firmware. Unfortunately, I still cannot use it on T-mobile though. I tried flash the U firmware, but I guess its not working because I updated to Binary 5?

You're welcome! And if you mean using T-mobile service, then you shouldnt have any issues after getting sprint to unlock your phone on their end or just receiving the MSL from them and providing it to T-Mobile and they can unlock your phone for you from their end and then edit the APN settings for T-Mobile (quick google search should help you find it). Just make sure your phone is completely paid off and any outstanding bills you might have from Sprint, or else they wont unlock your phone. But if you mean T-Mobile firmware, we're stuck out of luck for now and have to wait for them to update their firmware before we can use it.

*Update (4/25/2018): Here's my download link for the latest 935U Nougat 7.0 ROM (March 2018 Security Update), version RC1:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hdzW5KRXcZXDWdZ9Pw6qFMMwniQZN7di/view?usp=sharing

When flashing the CSC file, do NOT use HOME_CSC. Use the regular CSC file. Flashing the CSC will wipe all your data (except for data on the microSD card) so be sure to first backup your pictures, music, videos, etc.

    ==========

Link to Shortcut Master Lite, which allows you to edit your APN to add Hotspot. I can confirm that this worked for me on the newest QD2 Nougat ROM.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.shortcutmaster.lite

Open the app and put in LTE as the search term. Select LTEFunctionalityTest. Then select LTE APN Setting.

Go into the two APN2 entries, click on APN Type, and type in "dun" (without the quotes) at the end.

    Now you'll get Hotspot.

*Credit goes to @heathmcabee for sharing this with us.

    Hi guys,

On Samsung-Updates.com, a ROM file is available for the SM-G935U SPR, version PEH. This is the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge ROM file.

    http://live.samsung-updates.com/index.php?device=SM-G935U

Sprint's Hand-Free Activation and PRL update goes through just fine.

The ROM offers a Sprint bloatware-free experience and the phone offers better performance and battery life as a result.

    My Antutu benmark:

    Battery life is good again!

No ill effect on LTE speeds.

Hotspot works again without editing the APN!

    Give it a shot, people~! :D

I've read through through all the discussions in this thread, but nothing clear on helping with getting Hotspot working on G935U Rom posted at the beginning of this forum. I went from Stock ROM to G935U using link on first post. Used Odin 3.12 in zip. Used CSC_OYMxxx file. Booted fine, APN auto-set, LTE working. Can someone help? Someone else posted the same issue, but no answers. Please help! I've included pics of my ROMs before and after and the failure I'm getting. Thx!

Dude use shortcut master lite, search for lte. Use the first one that pops up in that line of com.test.functionality , click on it, go to lte apn and apply ,dun and your good. Works for me. Don't need msl

It's the APN2 EHRPD AND Apn2 lte Internet. Modify their APN TYPE TO:

    Default,mms,dun

    Now you have Hotspot free

Both EHRPD and one below need to be edited. I'm on U software also

If you're on sprint and need your msl pm me. I won't say more here but I got you.

Edit I no longer work for sprint. Sorry guys. I moved wayyyyy up.

Good info in this thread. I will help you guys get apn settings enabled within connection settings ffor any carrier setup but it's going to require root or a custom rom odin package with these modified files included in the rom. It envolves editing and replacing csc files once i edit them. Another thing you need to understand is that the bootloader is an important piece of the firmware setup process. So unless you lie to the bootloader you get the csc that it looks for during rom setup. Give me a couple of days to look at the csc from the PEH software. I will need one of you to test for me because I don't have the S7 but i do know how to fix this.
