I'm getting a AVG popup about a Trojan horse virus when extracting the newest download v4?? anyone else?

Doomlord said you should disable your antivirus program because it could detect a virus. But you can just go on, it's nothing to worry about ;)

Sent from my Nexus 4 running Android 4.3

I'd be glad to buy you a beer if we can make this work. I'm attempting it on a Moto Devour A555 with 1.6 (Doughnut)?. Locked bootloader. T backup and Root Checker report no root access.

I'd love to see that last line.... Yes I would.

OH by the way...... thanks to all xda devs..... all of them.

I totally noobed out....
Tried to install SDK.exe .... Error can't find tools\android.bat
Tried to update ADK It can't install certain 19 ?? file so it cant download updates??? WOE..... I check the 19 file with 2.3 and intel something and hit install and it tells me it can find 19 file to do an install. I unpacked it all in one place C:\

I went to "developer sdk site and NO ... Download "TOOLS" of any kind.

I can't locate the "TOOLS" file/ whatever to get the cmd prompt to find . . . ANDROID\android-sdk\plateform-tools.

Of course the pdf is cut off between the platefor
m-tools ...........so I don't really know what to type there or leave space.

Its my fault I can't seem to get a 3 click root in 30 or more clicks later still just trying to figure out the STEP by step pdf,
But mostly back step by back step so far.

I rooted my Alcatel Authority in 2 clicks.
I rooted my LG Regard in 3 clicks.

But my Bell Alrix is a "no liftoff" Huston... so far.

And I got to de-bloat or use it as a fishing sinker.

I have Linuxonandroid (by devs at xda,) ready to install Ubuntu (downloaded and ready) to ex-SD card but need ROOT first.

I'd say.... any ideas.... but after being a member for 8yrs.... I know better that that...LOL

Any help.

was having problems getting it to run on a mac osx (command errors and such, so I looked at the script and added adb.osx to the root of the extraction folder (script + adb.osx have to be in root of extracted files. Here it is:

Before:

After:

ran the script via console and rooted my droid 2 global no problems. I imagine the same can be done with modifying the script to accomodate adb.linux. attached the modified script for osx(runme.sh) and the linux adb variants. cheers!

How do I run it with console? I can only do it with terminal. I'm on 10.7, what is the problem that causes this? (below)

It doesn't want to work for me, it says:

./adb.osx: No such file or directory

WOW!

Pretty lame that you guys are resorting to having installers that load 3rd party rogue software onto users systems in order to get the root app. And they do this even when you skip and decline. Nice go with the skip button being greyed out like it is supposed to be non clickable. I declined and skipped every choice I was given and it still installed optimizer pro onto my machine. PLEASE! I beg you guys don't become like the rest and use spam and scam tactics you will destroy your reputation and no one will trust you again. This goes far beyond an absent minded forgetfull nature of one individual or is that what you are all consumed with by all I mean those that have uploaded their files to the dubious. I wouldn't have bothered writing this if it was an isolated event. Deposit files website is a scammers delight for those that even when you automate refusals they rewrite the installers to have you agree by accident or by not asking at all for the 3rd party scamware to be installed. DON'T BE DUPED REPOST THIS ANYWHERE YOU FIND A LINK TO SITES LIKE THIS MAKE A STAND

    Memory Crash Method

no problem... just detail out the process/steps i will link to it :)

So far tested for i9100G version

    Method 1 : DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit
     Download the toolkit first
    (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582)
     Replace the "runme.bat" with this edited "runme.bat" (http://db.tt/H28lkghK)
 Tick USB debugging (settings->Applications->Development), if unticked before
     Tick Unknown sources (settings->Applications)
 Using windows task manager, "end task" ADB.exe and all KIES related software if running
 Connect phone using provided cable, ADB driver for the phone will be installed automatically assuming you have installed KIES first
     Double click the "runme.bat"

    Memory Crash Method
If not succeed, please reboot it manually as it will not reboot automatically after the last unsuccessful script. Now add these extra steps :
 Same like above, do not run the script yet
 Now run applications from your phone, any applications will do, and close them with HOME button, not the BACK button
 Run as many applications as you can, check with "Task Manager", the RAM usages should be at least 500mb and above
     Now run the "runme.bat"
 Result : rooted (Superuser) only
