This is tool for GB, they have ICS but the part of your reply about kernel downgrade is correct.

If your a noob at this and just want to get official update, use Watanclient to do it costs €1.99 and you can mess about up to 5 times.

Update to 4.0.4 (.431) with Update Service (easiest way IMO). Then use my package to downgrade kernel (with flashtool). Then use rooting kit for ICS from other link that guy gave you. It won't work if flashtool is still opened ("can't start daemon" error). Then upgrade kernel with flashtool, and boot phone. It is rooted.

(Before rooting, check usb debugging and unknown sources in Settings)

      (2) install Busybox (1.18.4)
      (3) install SU files (binary: 3.0.3 and apk: 3.0.6)

      (2) enable "USB DEBUGGING" 
            from (Menu\Settings\Applications\Development)

I am unable to root my phone using DooMLoRD_v4_ROOT-zergRush-busybox-su or DooMLoRD_v1_Xperia-2011-ICS-ROOT-emu-busybox-su. Currently I am on 4.1.B.0.587.

Please help how to root it. Using MK16i....

As I unistalled my Antivurs before getting into the process I at last succeeded get root . That´s my advice to you After root,I reinstalled it. Worth a try

I dont have any antivirus installed.i even factory resetted it but it still shows that its not mounted as read/write

I've root it After 10 trys, i've used virtualbox.
