went to settings, status, i seem to have an imei still

As a rule of thumb...
Flash ROM, factory reset, clear cache, dalvik cache, etc and reboot.
U go the extra mile and reset and clear caches before and after flashing any ROM.
and check if your Settings (packet data enabled, etc...). Sometimes its the simple things we overlook.
