Needs to install on PC, then connect device with emergency recovery option
By the way there shouldn't be issue rebooting download mode, try this
Connect device to PC
Keep holding vol down + power - As soon as device screen turns off (reboot), release power and hold Vol up +down
This should reboot device to download mode
Remember you needs to connect to PC during this. Sometimes perfect timing is needed, keep trying and you should have download mode, once you have straightway flash stock rom and use Csc*.tar.md5 instead home_csc*

I see on the downloads page there is listed a "new zip" for full rom. I flashed before the new zip was listed. Do I need to reflash?

I you were "Test User" of T05 (Downloaded from another location) then yes, else it is same *_NEW.zip since it is public.
Another clue : If your ROM Tool - Mods & Misc Fix have option for App Cache Cleaner, you are already on New and no needs to flash again

Thats only difference, if you are fine without that option you are fine with skipping update.

@dr.ketan check please something in your rom, the rom is smooth and very good but there is a bug with updating play system updates. I flashed the stock firmware with root to see if it was root related or rom related, and it is rom related because now I can obtain normal the play system update. I hope you are not offended I like your rom with all goodies but this one bug. I don't know if it is because of RW system now or I don't know. But with the stock firmware it is working normal.

Play system update is a security update not the security patch it's shown on the third place in software info. It must be February 2023 or March 2023.

No idea as not using Viper. Few pages ago someone posted github link to of Viper, check if you find any similar report there or may post issue to get fix

After digging ino it found there is a issue, I can fix it but at presently fix isn't good. Fixing it may be unacceptable to many users as it may brick some critical patch, while this bug hardly making any issue to majority of users. Unless I found perfect fix, I am no going to address it.

Data Encryption :

Since we now have TWRP with data encryption support, What you prefer to have ROM with Encrypted/Decrypted data?

Benefits :

• With data encryption your data will remain safe
• Won't require to Format data while moving between Stock/Custom ROM (Encrypted data supported)

Bugs :

• TWRP have still one bug, If you set LockScreen Password, TWRP can't decrypt it. So you have to disable Password in case you want to use TWRP with Internal Storage Access
• May be Encrypted related any bug, We needs to test more but Primarily seems no any issue

In both the cases System will remain System-RW (read/write capabilities)

I have added poll to OP, Kindly vote, If there are enough users to test Encrypted then I may make Two version of ROM for T06.
T07 will have data Encrypted/Decrypted depend on what majority of users choose.

So I guess the password drawback will be just when using TWRP, right? Not that you can't use fingerprint or other screenlock passwords at all when using your phone ... Then it wouldn't be much a problem or difficulty to just disable it when using TWRP related tasks.

Yes only while using TWRP. If you set lockscreen password, twrp won't see your internal storage that's only drawback. Same time it protect from stealing data from twrp.
For normal use while phone booted to android, no limitation using password/pin/Finger print/face lock

But one has to wipe data to install this type of ROM, right? No dirty flash possible?

One time while moving from decrypted to encrypted.
Dirty possible from encrypted to encrypted. Indeed from stock rooted to encrypted custom dirty flashing possible

Absolutely great. Then I see no drawback in encrypted to be honest.
